Could not put it better. If........? ......last year with a mostly [censored] side, if he was playing up forward, influencing or kicking perhaps 2 goals a match, Self belief and confidence. It does not need to be AVB just some one to play with his intensity and strength at the ball or the player with the ball ! If AVB can get on the ground for 2020, anything is within reach. 5 years ago, I managed to get a Nephew and Niece to follow the Dees. Their mum follows North but did not mind. I know it was child abuse, but.....they still say Demons when asked who they support. A bit to do with being different at school when most other kids are Geelong. They hardly get to wear the scarves so Mum put this together, I can give them plenty to wear to school. This will give them sweet dreams for years ! Go Dees from far west Victoria !!

Even after a poor season, I am always optimistic going into the pre season. I was last year until the practice match against the Pies then I started to question how we were travelling. It became how deep, not what are we standing in ! Learnt stuff all in 50 years. Partly to blame last year was the reporting from the watchers that all was good or would be good. And after the 2018 heroics I was a sucker for the making. But a lot of people thought that way. This year the watchers have been more diligent in saying what they observed, both good and not so good, and the reporting from them this year has been nothing short of excellent, Good and bad highlighted, but the numbers training and questioning of why some players are not training means those that are there will have had a full preseason. And I think May will be to the back line what AVB could be to the forwards. I dont usually waste coin having a bet on Melb but I think I will this year. So all is good, until the first preseason games, Who do we play first ?? can hardly wait !! Go Dees good luck to all

For me, The first 5 games will define the season I think, and we need to start like a runaway train in the first quarter against Eagles, Two games at the Gee, we need to win one at least. Likewise two away win one at least, Given 2019 was fitness, training, and endurance stuffed we should be much better than that in 2020., 2018 might have been one step more than we deserved but being in the mix to finish 6-12 is barely a pass. The higher the better, I think the top 4 is a step too far, but depending on how well some players go and if other teams are poor. Perhaps Eagles, Richmond, Giants, Brisbane for the top 4. I think Collingwood will fall ( or hope they will) Suns and Blues at the base then Essendon and the Pies then everyone else so even that it might be a dogs breakfast and Footescray and ourselves might climb above the rest. I just hope we turn up to play for the first quarter of each game, far too much catch up last year. Go Dees

While having the training reports all reporting wonderful times when they must have been some doubts somewhere, is not good. It aint their fault. Apart from causing demonland hopes to fail dramatically ! Any fault lies in the inability of the Football Department and the Coaching staff to understand or take into account the extent of the problems caused by the Pre season medical issues and the interrupted preseason physical fitness regime. In my view, the coaches and FD should have known this would cause problems (because it was their job) and they did Bugger All to fix or mitigate it. In other words they failed dismally, any other corporate world they might well have been looking for new work. Some have paid the price, but no admission of corporate responsibility has been forth coming. If this was Japan there would be blood and sharp knives all over the place. However I do look forward to 2020, when you are in the bottom of a bloody big hole you can only look up, and I do think we might go that way. I actually read with pleasure the various training reports each with a different perspective and this year they should all be congratulated. They cannot be all on the corporate payroll surely. They all paint a picture of general optimism but also highlight good and bad points of various players. 2019 was a [censored] of a year, and the administration of the club did not deliver what was needed. 2020 needs to start with a loud BANG ! Just my view Go Dees !!

Lets guess, 20,000 crowd , 15,000 members, perhaps 5,000 paying people missed revenue, $20 bucks a head, $100,000 cost. possibly less if youngsters come with dad. Potential young members of the club later in life, I know I started early. Good advertising on the TV from having good exposure, for 3 hours or so. Worth having a chat to the AFL, I would think worth trying at least once to see what the real figures become. Go Dees !! at least its outside of the square and something different.

I think that "Fruity Lexia" in the cask is wonderful, and at a good price, plenty of room indeed to take it up to Thredbo, but where are the ski racks. Correct sort of car though ! Go Dees !! bring on 2020 competition,

Pity we have to wake up !! i can see an even first half of the season win the first and another 5, but in the second half lose the first 4 and win the majority of the rest and we finish somewhere 7-10 but with the form to win it if we get to September. but an exciting year worth watching and no blowout losses, because the backs May, Salem, Lever and Harmes work too well for other teams to exploit. GoDees!!

Happy to see the natural talent of both Bennell and Pickett take 6 months to come through and cause mayhem in the last half of 2020

I do like the taste of AVB being outstanding, almost as much as my anticipation of Pickett and Bennell causing havoc to opposition defenders Go Dees

Thanks from tassie and rural Victoria for the coming reports. The last few sessions and the varying reports have given those that cannot get there a great insight into the abilities of recruits and how our senior players are travelling. You now have a high ceiling to aspire to and I for one think it’s great. I think if you see a potato, I might see a tomato. All in the eye and position of view of the observer.
