Footy is a game. Gamesmanship, the art of winning games by using various ploys and tactics to gain a psychological advantage, is part of playing games. Game and set to Bug (and the MFC) on this occasion. Kudos to all.

Was responding to Petraccattackers comment about "aiming for 4th spot"... and I agree it's too early.

Given Tom rucked in the second halve Vs Pies and Oscar stepped up big time, it was a great game from a good developing key position back man. He's back on track.

With the Doggies bringing in 5 players it feels like the ideal time for our boys to try out a fast start, and crank up the pressure on them from the get go. Finally ready to move on from Monday, and this game promises to be another cracker! Go Dees.

That is an awesome handful of players, it's not a "spine"... with Lever our spine in 2018+ might look like. FB: Lever CHB: TMac C: Petracca/Oliver CHF: Hogan FF: Weid/Gawn/?? Not a bad old style spine.

A question - given the pre-finals bye would a 5th place finish, with home ground be better than a 4th place finish, away game (most likely in Adel or Syd)? Feels like the "2 weeks off in a month" scenario of a top 4 win in first week could be a momentum killer, especially for a young team.

I reckon we hold off judgements until Lewis has played his first finals series with the Demons, as I suspect his value at the pointy end may be being underestimated by some at this point of time...

Was watching our goals video (again) and it occurred to me that we now kick a good number of what I'd call, for want of a better term, "Lay-up goals", where the balls delivered to another player who can play on and kick the goal from the goal square in space (the slam dunk to continue the basketball analogy). i counted three such goals on Monday and we've been kicking them regularly this year as the team first, basketball and fast break football influences have rolled in. Petracca's to Jeffy the best example of the three. They are ripping goals and quite demoralising for the opposition, being the footy equivalent of being "dacked"... is it just me or have we been kicking a lot more of these recently?
