Lots of finger pointing, negative speculation and outright nastiness toward our team from supposed supporters on here... Best example is the old “they’re not working hard enough...” dribble... how the fork would supporters who use this line know? So basically you’re accusing our team and coach of slacking off or giving up, which is [censored] thing to say about our team and coaches. Its obvious to all that it’s not working at the moment, but to lob this kind of drivel at our team when they’re hurting like this makes me ashamed to be a fellow supporter. I believe they’re working there asses off and will continue to, and we, their supporters should be supporting them rather than baying like a bunch of angry old losers for blood, blame and insensitive [censored] talk.

Yep we must be in danger of spending half the soft cap amount that the Weagles, Dawks, Druggies,etc spend... every year.

I think with the coach reshuffle and now this, the club is acting maturely to address the issues that had us unravel this year... encouraging signs and signings.

This explains a lot. For all of those waxing on about flawed game plans, coach errors, kicking skills, etc etc etc they ALL stem from the above statistic and the reality that all year we’ve been approx 9 best 22 players down against teams with far fewer of their top 22 out. Hence the results, hence the collapse of game style, confidence skills etc... The above stat gives me hope. The above stat tells me this phase is either a statistical abboration or an issue with our medical/conditioning. Both will be fixed. The above stat also tells me that it’s the Dons that are the real story in terms of form, game style, coach, as they are crap with an extra 5 top 22 players on the park each week, and only a game (&%) ahead of us.

Undermanned, playing a polished top four team. got away with a modest defeat when it should have been far worse... Bring Salem, May, Lever, Jetta, Hibbard, Hannan, Melksham and Vandenberg back and we compete with the best again. While this season may be lost, all is not.

Maybe, I’m not familiar with NRL. part of the issue is with high definition, slow motion replay, ump errors have become very clear and when they result in a score they are unfair. By using that tech to rectify this without stopping the flow of play, would lower the pressure in umpires and the upset when they clearly get it wrong.

I think the game would benefit from a real time panel of third umpires with the power to nullify the benefit and reverse poor umpiring decisions. I.e. team scores a goal after a clear throw is missed has that score reduced based on real time decision of the third umpires (who have tv slow motion, etc) to adjudicate and decide as best they can. That way play can go on, with fairness somewhat addressed..?

General question - whys Carey called the “Duck”? And what’s with the black eye???

Love that some on here are trying to set up the story that if we lose its because Preuss wasn’t selected... so they can somehow feel vindicated when we lose. Really! We’ve been decimated with injuries and the coaching panel have developed and are deploying their best strategy to enable us to win... and it don’t include Pruess, and they (our coaches) know a lot more than any on here. and we’ll still probably lose, but have given it our best crack. some respect go Demons.

One swallow does not make a spring. Preuss would get killed by McGovern and co intercept marking, and offer little in terms of defensive pressure to limit the WC rebound.

Perfect setup for a boil over. if our mids start connecting forward of centre and our backline doesn’t fall apart, we’ll be closer to the Weagles than most think. Go Demons!

Presumably there is a “logic” to the long bomb approach, i.e top of goal square and our forwards can prepare (mark crumb etc) accordingly..? While our back lines been decimated but functioned, our forward line has been woeful.
