  1. We get over the back and guys like Frost spray the ball into the AFL members wing from 15 out...
  2. "We spoke after the game about changing the team a little.... Had we rested three players today would it have made any difference? Probably not, but you learn from every loss and every experience...." - Roos after game. Seems to me he's indicating otherwise. Obviously can be read many ways. Certainly he acknowledged playing Gus a few weeks ago was an error.
  3. Wish I had $10 for every time Roos said they got it wrong at selection. That line is wearing increasingly thin.
  4. Etihad is a poorly organised, poorly laid out stadium which does not make it easy for the punters. The footbridge is a bottleneck designed by an artistic architectural practice (Woods Marsh) with no previous experience in large pedestrian movement. I turned up at a reasonable time and left after the game with everyone else. It was very slow for such a low crowd number. Never experienced that problem at the G, the SCG, Gabba, etc. Not nitpicking, simply stating the obvious. If you like the stadium and like us playing there, good for you chap.
  5. The interchange cap has led to greater fatigue and a drop in skill levels, particularly late in games. Someone with stats can answer this better than me, but I believe there are more weekly changes to teams this year than the last couple. It used to be a case of make no change after a win. Now, it seems that 3 or more changes per round is common. There will be injuries, but I wonder if more players are being rested to freshen them up. Player exhaustion and a short turn a round meant we needed to bring in fresh runners. ANB, Stetch, Matt Jones or Oliver would've been handy. Doesn't help that many of our talls had a down day either.
  6. BS. There were long queues at undermanned gates where plenty of people already had tickets. The body scanning man where I went in just waved people passed because he couldn't keep up. If it was that hard to manage a relatively small crowd, heaven help them in the event of an emergency. It's clearly a slow and dangerous bottleneck regardless of anyone's size.
  7. Hope you did a risk assessment before filing the boilers Earl. Seems like you did one re the game at Etihad and decided to abort. Lucky for you.
  8. Hyperbole to suggest forfeiting the points. It was not an away game, that's the point. Sure we must learn to play all AFL grounds, no one is denying that, but it's better to play our home games at our home ground. More likely to win the 4 points there, though judging by today still unlikely.
  9. Dawes is sucking the life out of our salary cap. Most pundits estimates are between $500-600k pa. Where has his bang for buck been at MFC? Sure, we got to pay someone, and he's been injured, blah, blah, blah. Is he OOC at the end of this year? That money can be used to throw at a bigger, less fragile fish. Dawes will either not be at MFC next year or be on a hugely decreased contract. Does he offer something going forward? Sure, but no one is holding their breath. Rather look elsewhere.
  10. Playing our home game at Etihad is what many are questioning. We should learn to play our home games at our home ground, especially given it was vacant this afternoon.
  11. Outside spread and linkage as well Tone.
  12. Must've missed the bit about it being our home game....
  13. Etihad: The half flush toilet pan of the AFL competition.
  14. Also Lumumba spent a lot of time pointing to him whilst standing 30m away on his own.
  15. Wish I was in a corporate box at Etihad with canapés and a day bed. Might have made the loss more bearable, if I had noticed at all. Such is life, as Ben Cousins so beautifully put it.
  16. Injuries maybe Harmes (cork) and Salem (concussion). Others to consider omitting would be Frost and Dunn. GCS have a strong forward line. Dunny is very slow and undersized for KPD
  17. Dawes and Frost are not part of the next step forward ATM. Dawes cannot get fit, Frost cannot show value. Will Hulett get a run?
  18. I think you'll find Frost has a hold on that spot. Worse than useless today. #Frostfacts
  19. Agreed. Only 27k turned up, took far too long to get in (unless you were in a private box), in the event of an emergency evacuation the crowd would be fked. Docklands management work on the 'head in the sand' principle.
  20. Petracca was fine. There are about 21 guys that should take a good hard look in the mirror before him, particularly in the backline. Does Rievoldt have the plague? WTF was Jetta and Hunt directly (though very loosely) on him for much of the game? Makes no sense. Put TMac on him all game. Play the shut down role. Pretty simple really. He kills us every time and we learn jack sht every time.
  21. Backline lacked accountability. Lots of finger pointing. Zone defence is bull sht when opponents have control and run the show. We lack a KPD. Dunn is done, massive brain fades, plays the percentages for himself. Throw big money at Hurley.
  22. The backline were [censored] paid to not give any attention to their opponents. Let's allow them to run around unaccountable and kick goals at will. What a disgrace.
  23. Frost has gone ice cold. Every time he went near the ball I kept thinking of Benny Hill music.
