  1. I thought he was a complete [censored]. Rude, argumentative, crass, demonstrative and a bully. But Jacko was fantastic!
  2. Didn't Jacko take out Robbie at training once? Or am I confusing him with someone else?
  3. Apparently Clarrie asked him "who the fk spells Mike with a 'Y'?"
  4. Maybe we could win him in a vickery auction?
  5. The first part, yes. The second I'm not so sure of LG. I think Jake is limited beyond ruck duties. Having said that I'd like to see him now get a number of senior games to look at how the two rucks combine.
  6. Could be a 'project' player that Goodwin works on. Good size, can take a mark and rucks better than Watts, Pedo or Dawes. Much of his inability to perform is between the ears, but is that a confidence issue or simply lack of brains? I have some mad Richmond supporting mates that want him traded this year otherwise he'll be worth zilch next year. Does he offer more than Dawes on the field and training track? Would he hinder the development of Weed and Hulett?
  7. Yes, we seemed to have TMac or similar as an anchor behind play to stop their forward overlap which we've seen so much of this year.
  8. There would've been many clubs which technically should've folded over the last 40 years. Call it trading whilst insolvent or simply going bust. Sth Melb and Fitzroy 'relocated' as a result, but Footscray, Norf, the Dees and St Kilda all have struggled to keep the doors open at various times. The VFL/AFL is not like any other business, it relies upon emotion and finances that aren't generated in the same way elsewhere (with the possible exception of religion). Before the massive TV rights came into play, many clubs had books that consistently didn't balance and could easily have died. Now the AFL keeps clubs afloat because it is contracted to. Don't the Brisbane Lions owe something like $15mill?
  9. Can anyone name one club that said they would have taken Cook in the first round? Most of the creditable draft watchers had him 25+. Terrible pick. He was a stab in the dark by a recruiter that didn't know which end of the knife to hold.
  10. Yes, Dawes and Mitch Clark didn't end up being the power forward combination we hoped they'd be.
  11. Perhaps the umpires could wear noise cancelling headphones when doing matches in WA and SA. Block out the crowd sounds. Not a fashionable look though. Could have one if those ridiculous cheek mikes attatched to them. Just thinking outside the square...
  12. Yeah, he's been terrible for our club. Let's delist him in October. Bern him.
  13. Your business is a racket Earl. Besides, dc will get jealous. He's highly strung.
  14. Good god that Mitch Wallis leg break is horrific. Awful for the young fella.
  15. Er, he didn't quote you picket. "Internet forums for dummies" is on special on Amazon I believe.
  16. "All those who continually complain" is the usual out of context 'Land hyperbole. I'm guessing you are refering to me, and I said it in one thread the other day and got shouted down. The point was that the score was not reflective of the momentum in the game. If you don't believe we should've won despite having so much more of the ball i50, then you can rest happy with the close loss. I'm filthy we didn't win, as I believe we should've.
  17. "You can't polish a t urd, but you can roll it in glitter" might be appropriate here RTG.
  18. Should've won given the lop-sided stats, but apparently the score was the score and in an alternative reality we might've won. But we shouldn't have won because we lost....
  19. 66 inside 50's for 8 goals. Far too many long bombs to no one in particular (or maybe to an Eagles player) Congested forward line makes it hard for quality players like Watts and Hogan to lead out or take 1:1 marks.
  20. Smashing them for inside 50s. Not hitting the scoreboard enough
