  1. I doubt that Angus will play on ball, he's doing too well at HB and/or on the wing. The coach will 'make do' with JJ/Sparrow/Harmes/Nibbler/Kozzy to fill Viney's absence. I wouldn't mind seeing Harmes having a 'run with' role with Bolton.

No way TMac will play on the wing. It was tried before and was a failed experiment. I doubt that he will play back either, although that would be my preference. Smith is clearly Goody's love child, so he will get the gig replacing Lever. Not sure where that leaves TMac. 3 talls forward isn't an option, so perhaps he's dropped or med sub.

  2. I agree with other posters that Tommy Mac should replace Lever on the backline, and Brown/Weed forward.

Re Viney. I don't rate Bedford or Melksham. So the other inclusion would be Dunstan, Smith or Tomlinson. The Club seem to love Smith, so I guess he'll get the nod. Poor Tommo.

Not true based on the evidence thus far in 2022

Big improvement this season has been his one grab marking

Hmm, can't say I agree. Sam gets his hands to quite a few but then drops the mark. Sometimes he is the only one with his hands on the ball. He really needs to do better ... he has been on the list for at least 6 years.

Jacko drops a few too, but he has improved considerably, and will keep doing so. (Not at all concerned about him.)

Jolly left because we had White and Jamar as his successor.

Martin left because we had Jamar and Gawn as his successor.

And partially because we preferred to bring in Pedersen as a forward/ruck to play alongside a number 1 ruck.

I don’t think Weid is the same comparison though. Every club had a chance to get him last year. None wanted him. If he started playing well he’d draw interest, but if that was the case we’d play him every week and probably keep him.

Martin had other reasons too ... [MC]

Omfg. And the commentators say nothing which makes me want to kick the cat

    Re commentators ...

Way too much fawning over Hawkins. Good player obviously, but a genuine #$% bloke. FFS, call out that cheating. Lyon, Reiwolt, Robinson, Whateley etc ... If it was a lesser player, e.g. Nibbler, they'd make a meal of it. Same with his 'pushes'.

It was hilarious in the last few minutes Duckwood was up to his old tricks. Fortunately the umps didn't fall for it. If anything, he should have been pinged for HTB ... but the umps had pretty much put away their whistles.

  6. A few thoughts re the filth.

Adams is a genuine B grader. Is he their captain?

Grundy ... paid massive overs. Good player, but doubt that he's an A grader.

    Mihocek ... good ordinary player.

    Brown ... lol

Daicos x 2 ... nice players, but neither is or probably ever will be physically imposing

De Goey ... yeah, yeah ... an A grader, but a total @#$

    Madgan ... good ordinary player

    Maynard .... see Madgan

Moore .. absolute A grader, but injury prone

Sidebottom ... like the boxer who has gone a few too many fights

    Pendlebury ... approaching Sidebottom status

Cox .... lol  ... should be the star of his own sitcom

    Noble .... C grader

Frost .. apparently he's ok, but not an A grader

    Cameron ... B- or C+

    Lipinski ... C grader

    Hoskin-Elliott - see Lipinski

Overall, not a great future with their current list

Mason Cox is 31 and looks cooked as an AFL footballer. As long as Collingwood play him in their team, especially with all the tall timber they had running around under lights last night, they will struggle to win games. They should trade him to Geelong at the end of the season.

    He's not old enough.

The greatest, most fairest, most skillful, most modest,  most courageous footballer I have ever seen.  How he would be so happy now with our Demons on top.  We miss you Robbie.

    Indeed.

Assuming BBB is in then I'm for Tom although it still could go either way I guess. But the thing is that I see Weid and MFC like I see  Ronnie Wood and The Rolling Stones!...  Weid and Ron are good  and both have certain skills to bring.

For mine Ron was a fill in session muso when Keef was unreliable and Mick Taylor didn't fit. Now he's a "Stone" albeit creepy weird and a  shizen artist.

Weid is a fill in forward whose quirks are he that doesn't contest on the ground and flies beautifully on a lead then drops the mark! He can pinch hit in the ruck as well.

Any  band Ronnie plays with is lesser for it but we forget Taylor and Brian Jones and accept them as picked.

If Weid becomes a "Dee" we will forget how that forward line could look if LJ or even Watts had found their place in the 22.

It's not as if Weid hasn't been in the rehearsal room for long enough now to show his chops  , but at least he's not creepy weird.

Tom stays for the time being anyway, though he looks a little personally uncomfortable at times.

I loved Ronnie Wood with The Faces. What a band!

Mick Taylor was awesome with the Stones. Ronnie Wood was/is a downgrade.

I think SW will get the gig this week, and Tmac will be dropped, or moved to the backline. If the latter AT will presumably make way for BBB.

If BBB doesn’t mark, he typically makes sure his opponent doesn’t and brings it to the ground.

He is also covering a lot of ground.

Weideman needs to lift his overall competitiveness so that he stays in the game. I wouldn’t mind seeing him have a crack at CHF for a few weeks.

    Spot on
