  1. The Demons have traditionally got off to slow starts this season. Didn't happen v Hawks. Drop off appeared to happen when the side appeared too comfortable with a reasonable lead.
  2. Incredibly Sportsbet has Melbourne $1.83 Bulldogs $2.01. Go figure?
  3. The result was described as a massive upset. Was anyone here really surprised? I wasn't.
  4. I'm hoping WC and GWS win today to overtake Richmond.
  5. True, but I'd prefer they keep Richmond out of the 8 so (with great reluctance) I hope they beat Norf.
  6. The only upside* was that we couldn't go to the match. (I had a ticket.) It was bad enough watching it on TV. I'm probably repeating what others have said, but my observations are: Lack of intensity. Players laughing/joking as though they thought "don't worry, we've got this if we try". Agree about poor old #7. Clueless player. Opposition players know that he'll continually try to take on the tackler. And poor skills/decision making. Players fumbling/falling over. Repeated kicking to a nest of hawks (pun intended) in our forward line. Abysmal kicking for goal. Dodgy umpiring ... particularly the hawks getting frees when they simply barged into tackles head first. Return to the 'bad old days' of other sides getting on streaks where they kick 4 or more goals in a row. Dr D ... is he for real? Lucky not to lose the match. I won money betting on Hawthorn. (For some reason, Sportsbet paid out a reduced amount ... not sure why.) Most players played poorly. Surely they can't play that badly two weeks in a row??? *Well, other than not actually losing.
  7. I wonder what it feels like to be certain that your team will win.
  8. Saints v Port ... terrible standard. Steel is the latter day Lenny Hayes. (Both related to the Get Smart character Simon the Likeable.)
  9. Newman also suffered a terrible kidney injury.
  10. I'm waiting for a HTB decision against #20 for Brisbane so the commentators can say he had "prior opportunity". (Soz, should have given dad joke alert.)
  11. Indeed. Even if Demons finish top 2, having regard to covid there is absolutely no certainty of the first final being played in Melbourne. Don't know that I could bring myself to barrack for the Tigers ... Cotchin/Hardwick/Reiwoldt/Lynch ...
  12. Abysmal performance by Freo. So annoying that they lost by so much that Jee-long gained heaps of percentage and have overtaken us.
  13. I was Level 2 MCC N39 row C. I was rather looking forward to attending.
  14. Hey ... don't bother watching. Switch over to Q+A ... my daughter's in the audience!!! (Only 15 in the audience.)
  15. Good win by Norf at Boo Stadium. If I hear anyone mention Shinboner spirit I'll spew !!! Stephenson was clear BOG.
  16. Stephenson's playing an awesome match for Norf. What's wrong with Kelly for WC? Doesn't look interested.
  17. I think that ridiculously priced GF corporate packages are usually available. If the Dees made the GF, and I missed out in the MCC ballot, I'd pay the extorbinant price for a ticket. Well, up to say $2,000. Might be my last chance to see a flag. (Slight exaggeration ... I'm not THAT old!!!)
  18. Carlton are playing like Demons in their (many) bad years. Skill errors/turnovers/handballs to players under pressure. Demons have come a long way !!! Thank God we don't have to endure that any more ...
  19. If that dive hadn't been paid as a penalty, the match would have ended in a draw. So, it would have been penalties. FWIW I'd back Italy to win a penalty shoot out every time. So I suspect that the Socceroos would have been knocked out in any event. That's not to say that the dive wasnt a dog act, and the penalty decision wasn't shocking.
  20. Watched the replay. I really liked Max shepherding as Plugga ran into the open goal. There was a really good chase by Brayshaw (I think) in the final minute. Not sure whether he caught the PA player, but it was a good effort. Skill errors ... Viney/Harmes/ANB. Everyone else was great. BBB inclusion was obviously successful. NSS !! My good friend Blind Freddy was also calling for his inclusion weeks ago. The enjoyment of the win will extend to today ... and weekend. So different to last week's debacle.
