  1. It appears that there may be a spill, but It is going to be at Essendon, with those petitioning to reinstate Sheedy!
  2. Prime example of this is the essenscum team GF 2000.
  3. Should we draft the best 24-27y.o player in the PSD? The lack of experience needs to be addressed in the 24-27 age group. Thoughts?
  4. The time for intimidation as your only weapon is gone. It would be the biggest comeback since lazarus if he is retained.
  5. I have disliked Sheedy in the past for being the figurehead for the scum, but now that he is available I am of the feeling that he is the person for us. MHO is that we need more than just a coach. Sheedy best represents the answer to that need. Voss best represents a coach in waiting. If we could get them together over the next 18mths then we could be looking at Voss as Sheedy's long term successor at Melbourne. Voss seems to be going cold on the idea of being a senior coach. He seems to be throwing cold water on the idea every time he speaks about it. If he is an assistant and remains in the media and continues to keep his team in mind. It could well happen at Melbourne in 2010-2011.
  6. Why not build both kids up and have 1 play CHF and 1 CHB?
  7. I thought that Bruce is contracted to the end of 2009 after a recent contract extension?
  8. If we wanted to have a coach for 27 years we would have signed ND for 17 more! Sheedy has changed like a chameleon during his career. He is not Just a coach. I would be happy if we got him because I think that he will want to win another flag and he loves the game in general. Perhaps he does hate melbourne, due to perceived class biases etc. I am hoping that he will still talk to us as I think that he has a lot to offer.
  9. Sheedy would be good in a football development role. Do the AFL already have someone?
  10. Very nice tap down in the forward line for a goal. great footy brain there
  11. If west coast play geelong it usually ends in pain for geelong! My mates go for collingwood so i'd like to see them win, then geelong or hawthorn. Dont think the dogs are up to it yet.
  12. I have to agree Deanox. The toughest support I have ever played is indoor mixed netball. iT'S DEFINATELY NOT A NON CONTACT GAME!
  13. Well said Key deefender.
  14. Just watching the replay and I was wondering if Riley has started the playing of Dunn in the middle? It is a master stroke! Between him, Jones, JMac and then Slyvia and Bate leading up. It looks good for the future!
  15. After hearing Kennelly's comments the other night about our game turning into Gaelic football, would it be worth checking out a couple of prospect with our 2 late picks (providing we go for maximum participation in the draft)?
  16. I have celebrated every Melbourne victory and (every scum loss since 1999) but this loss leaves me hollow like the 2000 GF. It's as though they had saved those losses up for payback last night. I hate those arogant pricks.
  17. As a loyal servant over 10 yrs perhaps Daniher could lay down some home truths to some of those players he failed to reach? This maybe an opportunity for these players to "hear it like it is" He may well have created an opportunity to serve us even more in our time of need/change. The players are primarily to blame for their performance and now danners has the opportunity to spell it out to them like never before.

  19. Just assuming that Voss has grant thomas in his team, man manager/ Voss coach.
  20. I have not checked the games played by our players but I would guess that Brock is by far the most experinced young player that we have and he has just played his 50 th We sometimes forget that Bate, sylvia, Dunn, Bell. PJ, Jones etc are even less experienced and are playing in the seniors almost every week! Add to that Petterd, Frawley and Garland from the recent draft. I believe that this suggests a peak for MFC in 5 yrs time. I would hope that we can give others a go in the remaining rounds, ie. Newton, ?Neaves(if Yze goes to the long term injury list) and that we can draft some of the best young talent and possibly 1 0f Judd, Pavlich or Rewoldt. Iwould suggest that we would have a good chance with the latter if Thomas comes with Voss?
