  1. I'm not sure how anyone can take this stance. I agree he isn't the first to be caught drink driving and he won't be the last. It is not the one mistake in isolation. He was booked for drink driving AND he didn't inform the club AND he didn't front court. I can even half understand if three stupid acts are done in conjunction with each other - ie being drunk, being chased by police and doing a runner - blind panic sets in and you exacerbate your first silly act.. But there is a sizable time gap between the incident AND the chance to inform the MFC AND fronting court. ( and comparing not fronting for a court appearance to forgetting to renew your car rego? Really ???) It is not a hanging offense but trivializing it ? not me....
  2. Drink driving is stupidity - but he has exacerbated the stupidity but not telling the club of this outstanding matter and further exacerbated it by not turning up to the court hearing. We are all human and make mistakes just doesn't cut it here. I think the correct terminology is "stupidity cubed"
  3. Macca - got two spare tickets for Chain on Saturday night if you are interested....
  4. Further to this - most of us are pretty poor judges of the expectations of the coach anyway. Reading this site last year and now, Demonlanders are really divided on Rohan Bail. He played 21 games last year so I would suggest that Roos is not divided on him at all.
  5. I shake my head every time I hear him or read about him doing something. There are so many politicians who I don't like but at least I think I understand them. Rudd had an unfortunate narcissistic streak and let his ego get ahead of himself but he wasn't a stupid man. Gillard - I think became a different person once she got the top job - a very intelligent person. I think Hockey has done poorly as treasurer and being in the spotlight obviously doesn't suit him because I respected his intelligence and cool demeanor prior to his elevation. Shorten is no dummy but is bland and vanilla and that does not these days when leaders have to have some TV presence. Turnbull is a good performer in my eyes - I do believe he has overcompromised himself in towing the company line and was I expecting his resignation much earlier in the piece. I freely admit I just don't understand Abbott or maybe I just don't want to accept the simple truth that he is a dingbat.
  6. snorted coffee out of my nose....
  7. an enema wrapped in a riddle.
  8. Abbott to me is not fluff - the extent of his lack of understanding of situations and ability to read the mood of public and his own party knows no bounds - the sacking of Ruddock again highlights this. His comments linking aid to the executions of the two in Indonesia - why oh why ? Shorten ? - yup - fluff.....
  9. Please have words - this nickname is taken and registered. Pretty simple - I have a bung knee and the physio stopped me from my usual running and moved me to a swimming program . Swimming simply works muscles and maintains fitness without the jarring, impact and weight bearing pressures that comes with running.
  10. I came home early last night and walked in on my best friend Moshe making love to my wife. I looked at Moshe with distain and said to him " Moshe - I'm married to her - I have to do it...but you ????"
  11. sounds like a good business venture to me. Oy...
  12. 3/4's full... the younger doesn't really like football - however the older does -I go to the footy with my daughter and her boyfriend and his father and brother so it is a nice family affair.
  13. lets just say they can't kick you out but my observance is from a distance. I always said that when my daughters grew up I wanted them to have boyfriends of the faith. I have been half fortunate - the oldest certainly has a boyfriend of the faith - a diehard MFC supporter but the youngest has gone against the faith by going out with a Carlton supporter.
  14. I am a card carrying member. (lapsed)
  15. Its official - I am the Dustin Fletcher of Festivals - the mind and heart is willing but the body is failing. Saw Ministry - excellent. Faith no more rocked the house. Chris Cornell - this is what i imagine i sound like when i sing ! Incubus - excellent. Disappointed with the Smashing Pumpkins - musically was fantastic but no connection with audience at all. Slipknot - great visually and really tight. Marilyn Manson - horrible. Of the bands I hadn't heard of - Tonight Alive - Australian - really rocked - I got home and youtubed them and a bit Power pop when they are not live. Hollywood undead - a cross between the beastie boys and linkin park - really enjoyed them. It would be remiss of me if I didn't mention Steel Panther - they sent respect for women back to the dark ages with every five minutes getting girls to "show us your b00bs" - which all obliged. Their songs are so sexually blunt. They were sort of like watching a bad 1970's porn movie made into a musical. But I could not help but laugh.
  16. Seeing Chain on Saturday night - I will give you a review of the gig !
  17. A huge stretch. A Jewish pedigree is passed down through the mother not the father so unless the "got arrested and sent as a convict" is female then they are definitely not Jewish.
  18. No problems at all . I'll explain that it is good news that the two boys were recognised but it is just a practice match. Out of interest are you going to do the same honesty thing with Max King ? "I've got a feeling he's about 7 months away from looking for a new career." ( what you write on the internet always comes back to haunt you)
  19. The best news is Injuries : nil.
  20. Not surprised he wasn't picked at all. I think he is going to be a great pick up for us. I am convinced that by the end of last season he wanted to be out of Carlton. But his form last year hardly warranted him being picked for this game.
  21. I don't have a problem with Terlich minding his man as a backman - I think he is very good at knowing when to play tight and when to zone off and when to attack a contest off his man - to me this has never been his problem. His problem is I get the cold sweats when he gets the ball in his hands and he is deciding what to do with it and then I get the icy shivers when he executes.
  22. I can't recall anyone saying that Terlich was minding Gartlett. In fact - one poster mentioned that Terlich was picking up Kent who was quiet. But hey 2 and 2 doesn't always get you 4.
  23. That is surely a rhetorical question.... ( having read countless examples of Indonesian "justice" over 30 odd years nothing surprises me and everything usually upsets me)
  24. Come on ...go with the big statement HH ! If we lose this one I am never posting on Demonland again.....
