CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
It was predictable that there would be calls for Tom to be dropped after one poor game. But really I have no idea why youâd drop him so quickly, he was slow to the contest but he did keep trying to at least bring the ball to ground and kept up with tackles. He was also very clearly blocked from marking contests a number of times in the first quarter. For me I say no change, weâve gone 3-0 for the first time in 16 years. Why muck with a winning formula? Every player that has been named for the chop has been good so far but a little off tonight. Damn itâs a big game next week.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs GWS
What I loved: Kozzie being Kozzie but this time he kicked a bag. He is so early in his career but he could be something special. Could have goal of the week with his steal, dance, finish! Hunt playing his best game for the club is years. Yes he's kicked goals in other games that have been vital but this was him play an important role on HB and using his pace. He missed targets in the first half or blazed with poor kicking, but he adjusted and for me was BOG. Seeing Jones looking like a player who works in the side, there's been talk about gifting him games. They aren't gifts, he deserves to be in the best 22 right now. Watching Gawn kick goals. It's just fun to see, still needs to work on his set shot kicking though. What I liked: Goodwin changed things up. Clarry was getting beaten (up) in the centre, moved him outside away from the contest. TMac was unsighted, played him further up bring him in the game (though still poor). I wouldn't say it was an outstanding game from him but it showed flexibility. Fritta kicking goals, not behinds. A relatively quiet night in terms of him seeing the ball but he did what he was paid to do: kick goals. He couldn't been on the end of another couple were it not for some average forward entries and a couple of non-free kicks. Salem continuing to have a great year. Nuff said. Langdon continuing to have a great year. Nuff said. Our bottom 6 players having an impact; Nibbler, Jordon, and Spargo (feeling like I'm missing someone) doing good things through out the match. LJ Doing some really good things, and kicking a goal finally! What I didn't like (will keep it short): Oliver's attitude stank. You're getting tagged, that sucks. Take the chance to kick goals on them when they come because that will hurt them more than anything. He's misses and laughs/smiles smugly. Get ****ed, I want a coach to tell him the next time he smiles after missing on goal he runs a lap of Casey. Not a good look. How would we have gone without their injuries? Not sure we would've got the win, they looked up for it. We will never know, but take the win with a pinch of salt.

Against Freo were were 17pts up at 3 quarter time, against the Saints we were 15pts up. Neither game we put them to the sword, have to do it today.

Clarry should look at how Greene reacted to the poor kick then. He was angry, no smiles at all.

Even worse, May was being shoved as he kicked it.

They do it everywhere around the world, a lot of Premier League commentary is done in the same building as VAR.

They are. Theyâre going to Dal Santo for comments that only people on the ground would see. Itâs going to happen more.

Really good transition then. Well done Hunt.

Yep very harsh call. I liked that Viney didnât kick the cover off the ball, kicked it to where he wanted the forwards to lead.

Also if Max is going to play forward (since his kicking suspect anyway) why not having him play as a decoy. Lead to pockets to create space for others to lead into. He has to do more. One of my biggest worries right now is that the team will assume it will just happen with GWS down so many players. If I was one of the coaches I would challenge the players to show us we wouldâve beaten them even if we were the ones down of rotations. This quarter is big, we power on here then I can see us running away with it. If they keep it close and scrappy then they are a big chance to have a âseason definingâ win.

If we canât over run them with the amount of injuries they have (plus the long trek from Perth) then we canât say weâre a chance of much this year. It right there, but we have to keep our intensity going for the full quarter. Still having dips in and out. The other point of concern is that when the ball hits the deck in their forward half they look VERY dangerous. We donât have our marking game going back there and itâs largely due to good tactics from the Giants, they arenât giving Lever, May and Tomlinson runs at the ball. The good news is that there were signs we adjusted to our forward entries, but if Max is going to play forward he canât rely on his height. He needs to lead. Personally Iâd prefer Max to remain in his position behind the ball and be a sweeper, keep Jackson as our forward.

Weâre giving away some silly frees but equally not getting some big 50/50s.

This is a big test tonight for him, so far heâs failing.

Soft goal, we had a two on one. That shouldâve been killed.
