  1. I’m glad that as a supporter base it appears the majority are fully against thuggish behaviour. It’s unnecessary from Jack who is a leader of our club, his tackle leading up to it is a great example of controlled aggression and the sort of thing that he’s admired for. I back our players in all the way, but I won’t back thuggery.
  2. I feel like the hysteria will upgrade what would normally be simply seen as a 1-2 week suspension. I’m picturing possibly as high as 3 weeks, it really isn’t a good look and Jack has been seriously out of form lately, I feel like this is his attempt to get back to his tough guy look but it’s just plain filthy. I would be extremely angry if an opposition player did this to one of our guys and would be expecting minimum 2 weeks on the sidelines. The coaches need to get into Jacks ear now, not only is his football atrocious, but these undisciplined acts do the club zero favours. It’s also a really bad look for our Vice Captain to be doing these sorts of things.
  3. I’m pretty sure I remembered hearing that the ā€œhome baseā€ would be a collective of two announcements where the first will be focused on the oval itself while the last details are being ironed out for our new home facility which will be right next to it. Either way this is good news.
  4. I didn’t think Harmes had an awful game but he suffers from the same issue as Viney where he tries to bust through tacklers when he just needs to give the first option. If Harmes kicks straight we’re praising him. I think TMac was taken off for precautionary reasons, it’s a bit of a cheeky use of the medi-sub and it got a mini-run into Jordon but we’ve barely used it this year anyway. Does anyone know who’s on the plane to Perth that wasn’t in the 23 this week?
  5. I thought we hopped on a plane straight after the game. Happy for Perth to say ā€œwe can’t have themā€ and have the game in Melbourne. There’s a genuine school of thought to get all teams into Victoria to hub for the last few rounds.

Sounds like he’s been solid for Casey this year and he’s got a lot he’s dealt with. Bradtke likely won’t be retained so we need some coverage, give him another year. As for his mental health issues, I’m certainly not religious but it’s a miracle he survived and I hope he is able to continue to onwards and upwards. I get the feeling for someone in his position, every day is a new battle.
  7. This x1000. He got hands to the ball in good spots almost every time and instead of taking the first option he would try to bust his way through the tacklers, coughing it up almost every time or getting pinged HTB. He takes the handball or kick and suddenly we’re in better positions. Personally I think he should be dropped but it’s extremely unlikely to happen.
  8. Damn Swans getting the job done on Essendon I think.
  9. Wow if things keep going the way they are this could be a really good day for us.
  10. I stepped away during the last quarter just after we cracked the tone. Am I allowed to be a little disappointed that we didn’t finish 100+ in front? I mean I didn’t even see the last quarter misses and I know we missed some absolutely basic chances during the match. Obviously I am very happy overall, some important players managed to get some form, and we finally destroyed a team which was what we’ve all waited for. Clarry was just given a license to kill, Petracca couldn’t be stopped, and our forward pressure was huge. Again it seems ridiculous to say, but very disappointed in one player in particular: Jack Viney. I have been a long time fan AND when he is at his simple best he can do some great things. But FMD, he must have broken a record for being caught Holding the Ball today. Particularly given we absolutely dominated them. He should be held back and sent to VFL for his efforts, but he’s held in such a big regard by the coaching staff I can’t see it happening. He had a game that was reminiscent of Spargo’s first round last year v WC. He was a liability, and I hate saying that. On the positive side of things though, ACTION JACKSON!!!
  11. Jack takes first option, we end up with a shot for goal. Maybe someone finally got into his ear at HT.
  12. I’m not satisfied, half to go and there were bad habits creeping in at the end of the quarter. We have a big opportunity to get some good form today and get some huge confidence. That will all be undone with a mediocre/poor second half.
  13. 100%. We coughed up some absolutely stock standard chances, the good thing about that is that it gives Goodwin something to talk to the players about. He should be filthy that they wasted those golden opportunities, Brown should have a bag we’re it not for some poor final kicks. Viney, it’s hard not to love his determination, but an armchair tap down from Gawn and he decides to take on the entire GC midfield. First option Jack! Head on the black now, if he doesn’t have a good second half I’d be bringing in either Jordon or Melksham for him. Can’t have both him and Harmes trying to fend off every bloody player.
  14. But of course overall very good ?.
  15. Lost our heads in the last few minutes. Vinny keeps doing too much. Fritta absolutely shocking. TMac great intercept but why handball 15m? Kozzie, shocking kick.
  16. C’mon Dees, foot to the throat.
  17. Well that was a rare gift from the umps then. LJ took an eternity.
  18. Clarry kicking straight from a set shot, incredible.
  19. Big goal at the end of the quarter from Jackson, should do his confidence a world a good.
  20. Sparrow ?ā€ā™‚ļø
  21. Good finish from Suns there, but that was Viney’s goal. Awful from him all round.
  22. That’s got nothing to do with the draft. That was the free agency system that made sure lower ranked clubs got properly compensated for their loss of important players to them. That wasn’t thievery, that was based on what Hawthorn were paying him.
  23. This is a massive job from the AFL to get this organised in very quick time so credit to the on that. In terms of who benefits from all this I think we have to say we’ve got the better end of the stick. The players get to be in their own beds tonight and follow normal pre-game routine whereas the Suns would’ve had to pack in a hurry not knowing when they will be back. We also play Marvel quite well usually and this could be a good opportunity for our forwards to regain a little form. Would’ve loved WA to come out at the same time locking out everyone who’s been to QLD (us included) forcing them to play the game in Vic but obviously that’s not going to happen.
  24. Is this a good preparation? Absolutely not. But is it better that the boys will have a good nights sleep and be able to play on a track they know a little more than GC? Absolutely. More proof that we need to adapt to the changing situations at every turn.
  25. That Matilda’s win has got to be one of the gutsiest performances by an Australian team I’ve seen. The game ebbed and flowed, it was exciting almost throughout with both teams attacking. That penalty was ridiculously soft (isn’t VAR there to stop that bull****?), but what a response and the Aussie public need to get behind them right now. EDIT also how refreshing to see two teams in a knock out actually playing attacking football as opposed to being afraid to concede.
