  1. it has little relivence to this incident, however it is relevant to the fact he's no model citizen. People would like to believe he was, becasue they somehow think it reflects badly on them personally and on the club if the players arent choir boys
  2. typo, should have read "Drink and Drive" Lets be honest, Colin Sylvia is a reformed girlfriend bashing party boy. BUT he kicks the footy alright, so i'll cheer him on the field. Off the field, he can do what he likes. These guys play footy for the club we love. I mark them against their on field performances. What they do off the field in the off season doesnt worry me in the slightest.I think some of us here need to stop living in a fairy tale world where they expect AFL players, especially those who playe for us, to be choir boys. I'd guess people drink drive into poles on a daily basis, yet when someone does it with a AFL player in the passenger seat it somehow becomes newsworthy.
  3. I wish the new season would start so the AFL sports writers could report on news worthy events
  4. Sloonie, stop being so precious. Colin went out with friends, he did not drink or drive. The reflection on the club is minor
  5. Same here. Im a big fan, but being a midfield/smaller player if he doesnt show a bit more this year he might end up gone. Which would again show us how lucky Juice/Dunn etc are

    Daffy

Could be right, story on the clubs website now
  7. HOLY DIVER!
  8. i would be suprised if we could [censored] up a better player than Joel with the picks we have. i'd hang onto him instread of drafting more young fellas for the sake of it?
  9. i enjoyed that article for the photo from the "Demo Derby" - that eagles jumper is the worst that has ever been
  10. For AFL to continue to grow as the "elite sporting competition of the nation" they need to contin ue to support teh NT, TAS etc. I dont have a problem with the club playing games in NT at all
  11. Seems to me that the Darwin trips are good fro the club from a comunity aspect, and from a indegenous point of veiw. The brothers surely appreciate the trips up tehre (Espacially flash, LJ and Aussie) and it also gives the rest of the playing group a bit of perspective regarding the cultral leap that these guys have had to make to play footy with them. From what i hear the guys like a team road trip so i dont have a probelm with the NT games, plus we seem to gett he points anyway.
  12. Im a fan, and commend him for a great year. I think he is maybe a touch over rated by us all due to the fact that he came from seemingly nowhere. Hopefuly he backs it up in 2012 becasue i can never again rate a player after one good seasons... fell for that trap when Dunn played well in 2010
  13. Cale Morton must be an astronaught................................. he can only get a touch "in space" but seriously, he's in the same category as allot of the players - was not in danger of delisting this year, but needs to really show something before his contract expires because to date he has underwhelmed
  14. i rekcon bruce was close to a star for a few years there. He was one of only a few players in our side which my non dee's mates would conceed was a good player
  15. The way they pushed Jr. out of the door would have effected Cam's reasoning during the negotiations. I also dont understand how people can be bitter if in the same breath they are proclaiming about how much of a hack he was anyway? If his disposal was/is so bad, then why be bitter about him leaving. Anyway, #32 was one of my favourite players during the mid 2000's and i harbour no ill feelings towards him
  16. I can handle bashing Scully for leaving us, but all of the harsh words regarding Cam are out of line IMO. Wonder if people will say the same harsh things about Jr when he only plays a few games next season for the Giants?
  17. it all still comes down to luck with injuries, improvement from young players and form of old players... Hopefully the enw coaching group can get the most out of the boys next season
  18. yeah he sat on our table at a Western Demons supporter group night a couple of years ago. Absolute top fella, much more personable than Green
  19. 28 goals in my prediction. Watts will still get the best defender, but Green, Jurrah, Howe or Petterd will be the real winners from all this
  20. Juice Newton must be the best club man in the world, he's way back in the pecking order for tall players these days? Why clog the rookie list with a KPF/pinch hit ruck, when we have a bunch on the senior list?
  21. A disappointing end to a good career.
  22. all hypothetical until we see who playes well under Neeld's style of game plan
  23. thats a point worth discussing. Leigh Brown played as a 3rd tall alongside Dawes & Cloke. Perhaps this will assist him on working on a Clark / Watts / Resting Ruckman system for us? time will tell

    Best 22

FB: Garland Frawley Bartram HB: Davey Rivers Grimes C: Blease Trengove Jones HF: Sylvia Watts Howe FF: Green Clark Jurrah Foll: Jamar Moloney McKenzie Int: Tapscott, Martin, Petterd Sub: Bail
  25. I think we paid top doallar for him becasue he is the right age, right body size, and can play forward. Unfortunatley an out and out KPF wasnt available, so we recruited a versitle KPP who can play forward on in the ruck. If J. Brown hadnt been injured as much as he has been in the last few seasons then im not sure clark would have been played as much as a forward? But then again, speculating is a waste of time, becasue at the Dee's we will play him as a full forward IMO
