The Mongrel Punt - Season Preview
Mongrel Punt opener is an interesting read, maybe the staff writer does have a novel in him. Ticks off the litany of ‘plaints that bedeviled the club’s recent history. Importantly MP perceptively suggests the best way forward to lose the negative media scrutiny. Is through a return to the winner’s list quote “…it is amazing how quickly success turns a team of ‘apparently’ disgruntled players into a cohesive unit…”. Despite the overrun of the footy mafia rumour mill. On the visual and observational evidence so far. Both Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca are enjoying the pre-season with their team mates. Plenty of smiles about. Their return to the playing field, after ‘the healing’ bodes well, lifting the entire team performance. According to MP “Even just Oliver re-discovering that 2022 form would elevate them (the team) six places (ladder wise).” To paraphrase MP the theory that what [censored] happens is neither bad or as good as made out applies. As the new year kicks in and the woes of last season’s Annus horribilis recede exponentially in the rear view mirror. Being a passionate and invested supporter l’m feeling likewise, let the ebullience rise and let the team play some bloody good footy.

- Casey Demons - offseason 2024/5
As a lapsed Foxtel/Kayo viewer, the recruitment drive at Casey, should reboot considerable interest in footy next season from Casey Fields. Give the 🐝’s a run for their money. Pleased Noah gets to float his boat. Smithy’s never looked so good!- PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024
Kharma Kharma Chameleon he comes and goes…- PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 13th December 2024
Inspirational WJ just keep a weather eye out for this bloke.- Tom Fullarton
Strictly HFF After the euphoria of the draft some sober reflection. DL has more mood swings than Ashton’s Circus high trapeze act. Without a net.- The Roy George Thread
Not 1996 mate but it must of been a good year for school boy ‘humour’.- The Roy George Thread

Love the new avatar and comeback née wcw. Caspar the ghost was one of my favourite comic book characters of my boyhood. Plently of fun back than without tamagotchi’s, PlayStations or whatever. Get outside and play kick to kick in the street! Pleased Uncle Roy’s got his own thread and Shane has returned in ripping shape. Looking forward to seeing how all this plays out. Feeling optimistic about the season ahead.- Grandson of a gun
Coming soon at a permanent training base near you.- PRESEASON TRAINING & COMMUNITY CAMP
Dare I say it according to some “he’s been a very naughty boy”.- Happy Birthday Charlie Spargo
Thoroughly concur with that DS9. Daniel Harford as an interview host, leaves the majority of ex-hawks who plague the footy media in his dust. Happy Birthday Charlie wishing you a prosperous return to the field next season.- PRESEASON TRAINING & COMMUNITY CAMP
Rock hard big year coming up.- WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Occasionally in my wanderings, I visit Karama shopping centre here in Darwin. On the wall opposite the Karama Tavern where you enter the shopping centre. Is a Sunday NT News pictorial display. Amongst the usual crocodile stories and page 3 bikini clad girls. Is an image of Liam Jarrah on a long scything run into the forward line with Colin Sylvia in the background. Back page headline says 'Sizzling Demons Too Hot'. I remember that cameo very well as I was in attendance the night before at Marrara Stadium. TMM that is one of the best displays of indigenous sporting prowess. It remains there well over a decade after the events portrayed. His recruitment was rather fortuitous given a number of clubs interest, but having the number 1 pick in the 2009 pre-season draft certainly helped.- WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Much closer to Jackie O according to Cal and Riley.- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
Paul Roos during his coaching stint memorably had Dave Hughes come in during the pre-season and address the boys. Hughes referred to Bernie Vince’s haircut as not been unlike that of a tennis ball buzz. The funny part was where he’d end up, as the Australian Open was in progress nearby. Somewhere in a women’s single match in the knickers of an attractive star. Bought the house down. The second image recalls this guy. Who appears overly amorous with the Collingwood crowd. (Sylvester is pleading mistaken identity). Haircut is colloquially known as “the Shunk” for good reason.- Welcome to Demonland: Aidan Johnson
Dwayne’s hitherto missing twin bro… - Casey Demons - offseason 2024/5
