  1. Houston, we have season lift off? Wrong bloke here’s…
  2. Laurie going OK
  3. Nice goal young Craven.
  4. Adams commendable running contest to contest.
  5. Turner is an AFL level player.
  6. Tom Campbell off injured. Giants have ascendency around the packs.
  7. Umpiring is unworthy of little league. GCS defender tackled while bouncing ball in Casey forward line play on!!!!! Absolute nonsense. Front on contact in marking contest on the goal line. No free result one behind. BS.
  8. Turner too good at this level.
  9. Gold Coast land of the giants. Momentum has swung their way. Soft frees help. 50 metre is a heavy penalty for perceived infringement. Casey linking up well with handball and attractive play on style.
  10. With that kicking action he should be a revelation up forward. By the way which way are the goal posts?
  11. Congratulations Harvey Langford. Bounce back for a proper game lad.
  12. Goody the innovator, surfing the footy devolution wave. Touch footy is the future. Throwing the ball is already the new standard.
  13. Steven May, l’m met him briefly at ‘The Cot’ day after the Grand Final. In a word ‘Stentorian’. Expect he will add some real lead to the Demon pencil this weekend. Pleased this ‘under the radar’ extension has been agreed. Recalls Stills-Young titled song and album. “Long May You Run”.
  14. Reality, back in the Big League Melbourne will be playing for VICTORY this weekend.
  15. Haileybury not unlike Assumption back in the day. Has become a bit of a ‘football factory’ with many established and aspiring young footballers graduating from the college’s football program. Having high profile football identity, Matthew Lloyd as head coach indubitably helps.
  16. 6. Kade Chandler 5. Clayton Oliver 3. Xavier Lindsay 4. Christian Salem 5. Christian Petracca 6. Jack Henderson
  17. Both squads.
  18. There is a difference: North shooting a shotgun from general play. Dees shooting blanks from a series of very gettable set shots.
  19. Casey showed some grit in the last. Campbell, Baldi, Craven and Langford flying the flag in the last stanza. Somebody put their hand up for Specialist Goal Kicking Coach? oh yeah Picket!!!
  20. Dm56 you’ll need to push the fast forward button a touch. Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon. Track 9 Brain Damage
  21. Dm56 you’ve added a ‘d’ how prescient. “Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs…”
  22. Pondered this acronym for a while; Was it? ‘Weapon in Prometheus’ the latest video game being played by aspiring young AFL forwards in their free time? Major drawback being you might fire. But you were more than likely to do penance for perceived failure. According to some pundits on Demonland. eg Less than earth shattering performances in the pre-season pantomimes. Chained to a rock with an ex-Eagle (Jack Darling’s your man?) visiting each night to rip out your liver. Seems a bit harsh, even for hardcore Demonland flagellants. Besides Jack is known to be averse to medical procedures. Perhaps there’s a big ‘M’ adrift out there but personally never thought Disco as a big WIMP. Phonetically WIP could be mistaken for WHIP. The season has barely started and candidates for DL whipping boy abound. In fact it’s building towards a Melbourne Cup field. Jack Billings, return of an old favourite. Kade’s a real contender, run ins has been a bit dodgy. They’re howling for Howes out there too. (Full Moon is coming). To be blunt, Sharp’s got his fans as well. Then there is Bayley and Bailey. No, not the confectionery manufacturers recently appointed to King Charles, but they’re getting it royally too. Well, we await further developments. Like the injury/suspension list, it’s a work in progress.
  23. Based on highlights and the AFL’s generosity in allowing me access to only the mini-match post game. Matthew Jefferson didn’t let himself down or the team. Recall some blokes who went on to terrific careers whose debuts were less impactful and not as self assured as JEFFO was last Sunday. Augurs well for the future.
  24. What’s up doc?
  25. 6. Lever 5. Petty 4. MacDonald 3. Sparrow 2. Petracca 1. Lindsay
