  1. I would have thought winning 14 of 22 last quarters for a top 4 team is actually not great. Particularly one that starts slow. And one that has the benefit of playing at Kardinia Park. Given we only won 13 last quarters the same argument might be applied to us. But our modus operandi all season has been to get a 3-5 goal lead by 3 q time, and play tempo footy in the last and maintain that lead. It is clear our record in the last q is not fitness related (except in the weeks after the bye when we're doing extra loading)
  2. Given it is a Friday night game, am i right to assume teams get announced tonight?
  3. That Jayden has really long fingers?
  4. This thread has got very weird
  5. Morris throws out that is Hibbo coming in with such certainty that many people, understandably, assume he is correct. So the options as to how he has come to name Hibbo as the definite replacement might include: Hibbo has been told he is in and he, or someone connected to him, has told Moirris The players have heard Hibbo is in and one of them, or someone connected to them, has told Morris The club has deliberately leaked that info to Morris as an act of subterfuge (eg Hunt comes instead, and for a day the cats mistakenly think it will be Hibberd) he is playing big man on campus, my intel is the best in the business and simply guessing it will be Hibberd - and if it turns to be [censored] he will never get called on it (and even if he does he will be all my information was correct at the time, cant reveal my source, blah, blah). If i apply the Occam's razor principle to the above options, i know which one i choose Given it is really only Hunt and Hibberd in the frame he has a 50% of being right. But given the match committee probably meets today there is no way he could be certain. I can play that game. My sources tell me Jordon is going to come into the team and Jones will be medi sub.
  6. Name rings a bell. But can't place him. Google time.
  7. I was watching our round 23 game against the cats Jimmy.
  8. The best 5 possession, 1 mark game in the history of the AFL.
  9. Agree on leap, but if Hibberd goes to Rohan he'll physically smash him. Legally.
  10. I was wondering who was going to buy 2022. I hope for Smith's sake it is a better year than 2021. I bought 2021, thinking i was being clever after 2020, and it has been a disaster!
  11. He played on danger at times against the cats in round 23. And held his own. Also took Cameron and Rohan. And held his own onthem too.
  12. She's a sneaky chance to win the Brownlow
  13. Would agree for most posters. But Dannyz has impeccable mail.
  14. ANB would change the balance. Is a key player, not least because there isn't really a clear replacement for his role with his aerobic capacity
  15. Absolutely. Which is why Smith is important against the cats becuase he can go one on one against Rohan and/or Cameron, as he did in round 23.
  16. But neither are really one on one defenders. Both need freedom to run off their man and float as interceptors
  17. Agree. he can take any of their talls, with the exception of Hawkins, so offers terrific flexibility. And his speed and ability to cover ground will be important on the expanses of Optus Oval, particularly given the cats are likely to try and spread our defence (eg by switching before kicking inside 50) to engineer one on ones. However IF we win i could see a scenario where Smith makes way for Hunt.
  18. I swe your logic dazzler about hibberd. But I reckon there is zero chance he comes in. In fact I don't think there will be any changes.
  19. That's a good point. Given we won't give them space to lead into, surely four talls means they end up with a lot of high and long inside 50 kicks. A lot of talk about Ratugolea being a really important in from a structural perspective. And that playing him will negate levers impact by forcing him to be accountable to a big. Both valid points perhaps, but when it is all said and done he only had five possessions and one mark against an average Giants defence (how slow was Davis?).
  20. Ethan (and other Perth based posters), what's the vibe like over there atm in terms of the footy? I was amazed the Cats v Giants game had a crowd of 44, 000. Incredible, particularly given one assumes there is no historic giants fan base. I was even more amazed people were still booing the iumpires!
  21. Four talls - Rohan, Hawkins, Ratugolea and Cameron And I 100% agree. Dalhous makes way for a big. Parfitt is out. They have Close. And obviously some good mids. But surely four talls creates a huge issue for them in terms of winning ground balls inside their 50 - or even just creating stoppages. And when we win defensive ground balls or intercepts, we will look to run off their talls at every opportunity. They are a slow team as it is. Four bigs, two of whom are lumbering types, just makes them slower.
  22. Nor me. A musical giant. So under appreciated Another under appreciated giant of modern music died last week - Lee Scratch Perry. One of the most influential musicians of all time, in particular on electronic music and to a lesser extent hip hop.
