  1. Agree. I've had 2 myself. No kidding. Back on the park this Sunday and Monday and hoping it all holds up....
  2. I read most of the reviews the same way as you, though I beg to differ on the Riley assessment. It reads pretty positively to me, albeit still with the disposal weakness he needs to work on. The full review for Riley is: "Aidan Riley: Aidan was good. He had 35 possessions and four effective tackles. Aidan was really positive and influential around the stoppages. He won numerous critical contests, but let himself down a couple of times with missed kicks and the effectiveness of his disposals. Aidan really tried over the course of the game."
  3. Can't believe you would cut a party drug with clenbuterol. The only short term effect is to help relieve asthma symptoms, with no high or psych effects. On the other hand, long term use of bute leads to anabolic effects and improving lean muscle mass. As a dealer, you don't throw it away with a party drug. You sell it separately to body builders and athletes for regular consumption. What I'm hearing out of the Pies sounds like an absolute crock. But the media have swallowed it.
  4. Newton wasn't outstanding from my point of view. Was a little surprised to see him named among the best. JKH was hot and cold. Can't help but think he chooses when he wants to go and when he doesn't. The best for mine were Riley Salem and Bail. Riley was just tough and competitive all day. I'm sure the conditions (muddy ball, sticky centre wicket) suited his style and not sure he would have been as inmoressive on a cleaner AFL ground. But he deserves credit for going hard and never giving up in a one-sided game.
  5. If you have recovered already Earl, I'd say you way underdosed on the sherberts.
  6. I commented on him on the 2 times I saw him. Certain he must have had more than that, but I wasn't sure who he was initially (no recruiting expert here as you might be able to tell) and hard to see play across the other side of the ground from the stands. What I saw looked promising - decision wise and execution wise. But no better than I have seen from Stretch for example. And its still a first game....
  7. Goal to Burns from the pocket after a clever tap on from Salem among others. 116-49.
  8. Mitch White has responded to the bake and has been fierce when close enough to be involved. Bail remains full of effort. Has given away a couple of frees today but never stops trying while those around him look much more fatigued. And as I type he scores a lovely goal running through the centre and banging it forward. BH 16.13.109 to Scorps 6.7.43.
  9. Platt telling the Scorps in the huddle that they have been an embarrassment and need to make individual decisions to get going and salvage some respect.
  10. Riley had another good qtr and is a real bullock with the ball. He's wearing twice as much mud and turf as any other player. Think he sees it as a badge of pride.
  11. Salem has had a lot more this qtr. been really strong in and under packs around the wing. Another cameo by Lovett was impressive. Good decision making and nice forward pass to get the ball clear out of traffic. JKH seems to be playing with more dash and intent. Another goal to Hawks for. 88 to 30 lead.
  12. Hawks with the breeze now 12.9.81 to Scorps 4.4.28. We are really missing a forward target. So many forward entries this qtr have been marked by a Hawks player virtually unopposed.
  13. Don't know any stats but I've seen a lot of involvement from Riley. Jamar has been good since coming on half way through the 1st. But Spencer is the main big guy doing the running to most contests. Nice snap for him to get a goal although Hunt was free for a joe the goose in the goal square (seems to be a specialty of his). Salem has had a fair bit of it but is not doing anything special to my eye. Not taking the game on, just doing a kick forward and not always a good pass - a couple of up and unders. Toump hasn't been in the play much. Stretch a little moreso and looks lively. The centre square is a sticky quagmire from turf wickets making it really hard to get a clean clearance for either side. Have only noticed Lovett get one possie and he looked composed in traffic, weaving around and getting out a nice handball under pressure. Bail is doing a lot of running as usual and is consistent but not spectacular. Jordie doesn't seem to be in play as much as recent weeks. White has had a few touches but playing in defence and they are getting overrun by waves of Hawks. Hunt had a spectacular ride on top of a pack in the goal square - Howe-like, but couldn't bring the ball to ground. Haven't seen much of him otherwise, but his usual form is to pick up in the 2nd half.
  14. BH 7.8.50 to 4.2.26 still in 2nd qtr. BH against the wind but looking the stronger team.
  15. Nice straight set shot by Ro Bail for a goal.
  16. Fitzy pulled out sick yesterday according to dev team player. Apparently 17 Dees players have been affected by a bug - Fitz, Watts, N Jones included.
  17. Haws doing a lot of streaming past their own for handball receives on the run. Just scored another goal after a lot of short passes up the wing by Scorps with one weak link causing a turnover.
  18. Lost connection for a while there. Jamar and Stretch here and ready for the start of the game but no sign of a chopper. BH 2.1.13 to Casey 0.1.1 at 10 mins into 1st. JKH butchered a set shot to go out on the full. Behind was to Terlich with a long shot in the run. Scorps under pressure in the backline a lot of the time. Terlo and Riley been in a fair bit of play.
  19. From what I'm hearing, the boys are serving up a sh*t sandwich.
