  1. The swans little team on front of the members have got some real hard nuts. Multiple dropping the ball against the dees. Great to see the girls tackling so hard.
  2. Going tonight - and I have a new approach - my views on Watts are now completely removed from my wishes / wants / hopes of "what he might do" - I'm just going to the footy, and watch out 22 go around, and support them to the max. We'll move on players who can't play, and that might include #4, or it might not... Passionate about the Dees, not too passionate about #4. I figure this will improve my cardiovascular health enormously! Go Dees!!!
  3. All our goals today were kicked by players who weren't at Melbourne last year...
  4. We're not as talented, and we don't work as hard. Lots of occasions when we break and no one other than hogan working really hard to get ahead of the ball
  5. I wonder when an eye for an eye will be dealt out to hawthorn? Can't remember when they've been physically attacked in this era. Not saying it's right, just saying it might be necessary...
  6. No stick figures. Hard and edgy. We'll miss Kent. Our best 22 now starts to look OK...
  7. If we can break even out of the centre, were a chance here
  8. Watts has to do better than that kick,if he's there for vision and delivery
  9. What the fsck is it about us that we get the first free against. They've decided to punish Bernie have they?
  10. in the training thread... he didnt take part in some stuff at the start, but was in all the stuff at the end of training. really hope hes ok...
  11. A few observations 1. jones and vince didnt join in at the start. I can understand Vince, but it did make me wonder if there's something nqr with Jones 2. we have so far to go... McCarthy was teaching them how to use numbers around the ball, how to fill space etc etc. Its a long way from ingrained for some of ours. 3. H. runs at full intensity in the drills. Not all do. 4. Our skills are variable ... some cant hit the target in the drills not sure how they'll do it in the heat of battle Brayshaw will be a beauty, by the way!
  12. I wonder who, in this thread, actually has any serious qualifications (other than Dr Google) to discuss this stuff. Not that lack of expertise stops us discussing many things! With all due respect to all D'Landers, I would hate anyone to take dietary advice from postings on this board.
  13. correct. no one is scared of us. 2000 GF was a bad day. just belted up by the bully.... we've never got over it.
  14. He's very fast and very fit. For the last couple of years, he'd break a line, and look up to SFA... and then disaster. Now, with people running ahead of him, there are targets and space to kick in to. Hates to lose
  15. The next minute he gets put in defense or something Not a star, but got caught in a period of "average player management", I reckon
  16. I'll leave the detailed reports to those who know more about footy than me. Windy day, lots of work on running the ball out of defence ... What struck me again and again was how different the game looks when the grown-ups arrive. Contested balll, players milling around and then bang - H. arrives, picks the ball up at speed and goes through the pack, or Crossy call for the ball, looks inside and laces out, or there's a scrubber kick into the forward line, and Garlett just doesn't look like fumbling ... Makes me realise how far back we were - really good footballers win football games - we need to draft/develop/trade for a lot more. But Go Dees - see you all on Saturday in time for the opening of the Robbie F. Wing (1:15, I think), and in the mean time you can use this to get you in the mood:
  17. from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Flower In Ken Piesse's The Complete Guide to Australian Football, Flower's player summary quotes Brent Crosswell "...beat Flower and you could just about retire from League Football because anything else smacked of anti-climax."
