  1. Geez did I explain it that badly?! the draw tomorrow. Next week match ups begin. Will be lots of them each day initially.
  2. On behalf of the esteemed Supermercado/Demonblog, and the organising committee, it is my immense pleasure to introduce you to Demonbracket 50. Over the course of November, we'll endeavour to find our favourite (important distinction: FAVOURITE, not best) Demon player of the post Premiership era. I won't go into enormous detail here, as all info can be found at http://mfcdemonblog.blogspot.com.au/ However, some quick house keeping..... Tomorrow at 10am, we unveil the draw. No drip feed like the AFL, but will offer one 1st round match up: Graeme Yeats v Andy Lovell. That's a tough one, many others are easier. Details on voting days in the above link. For clarity, we put some rules in place to arrive at the 128 selected. - must have debuted after 1964 (ie no Demon premiership players) - all 2014 listed players excluded (they have their own Demonbracket in February) - ex Melbourne players who are on a 2015 list excluded (Beamer, Brock and Warnock retired/delisted, so have been included). - First 123 players were ordered by games played (we were pretty stoked that player 123 happened to be a controversial full forward with a fat arse) - Last 5 players were wildcards selected by Mercado, myself, Foundation Hero Elliot Swart, and the great Matt Burgan. Our one criteria was a wildcard had to have played at least 30 games. So apologies to fans of Phil Egan, Dannie Seow or Haydn Lamaro. - 16 seeds were initially selected in order of games played. Was decided at the 11th hour that we'd honour Robbie and Jimmy by placing them 1 and 2, ahead of Neitz. the 16th seed was gifted to Jakovich, A. Partly to right the wrongs of the 2008 150 Heroes committee, but mostly because we could. Deal with it! We haven't tasted much (any) success in the past 50 years, but we've had our share of beloved footballers. Please take the opportunity to get involved and vote daily. We're working to get the club on board via Matt Burgan, and we'll be harassing former players on Twitter. Should be heaps of fun. Go Jako, Chook.
  3. Round 20, 1991. Mark Brayshaw played full back on Allen Jakovich for a lot of the day. That's all you need to know.
  4. there's footballers on a list. then there is rare cases like Jones. He understands he has a rare opportunity to be truly beloved at a level somewhere north of Neitz, and only short of Robbie and Jimmy. When you're going to be well paid regardless, that's a powerful inducement. Its not something open to many footballers, but it is to him.
  5. watch this space. ducks are already in a row with a willing participant. Of course 5 other clubs will pony up the big cash and we'll be in a shootout.
  6. I've shared most of what I know in the past couple of weeks. I think a succession of unexpected events out of our control has had an effect. McCartney Griffin Walsh The hold up with Beams and Ryder But the real killer was JT's foot. pick 12 was the sweetener. I'll put it out there - JT's foot is fine, we get Danger. c'est la vie
  7. The poor bastard has worked his tail off and got nothing done. Ambition outweighed by the stench of mediocrity.
  8. If GWS trade for pick 1, option 34 will be inacted and we'll offload pick 3 in a firesale. Have to.
  9. Horatio is a different cat. But he fronts up every week. He trains hard, prepares well and gets the best from himself. There's no surprises for us. He'll carry it 20 and bomb it 50 to no one. But that's an upgrade on captain Jack kicking tumble punts out on the full.
  10. I've already posted this aint happening. near as gospel but you heroes potting the bloke who started the thread....seriously no doubt he thinks he's got a scoop. good on him. offering more than most
  11. No Jade, I don't believe much is happening at all. A wonderful, loyal young man has seen his world (and foot) fall apart. That world was the crux of many a plan. I'm speculating now, but would have to be a mad scramble to get anything noteworthy done.
  12. Kennedy been talked about for a while. Yesterday I was led to believe he and Danger were every chance. Hence my BS entry into the Demonland poetry competition. Kennedy aint happening guys.
  13. Honestly mate, I don't know what's happening anymore. When news of JT to Punt Road broke on Friday, my phone lit up like a Christmas Tree. Getting pick 12 seemed to be the key to Pandoras box. Now? NFI.
  14. unlikely. 11,000 Ology posts used my forum quota. Come Thursday evening I won't be seen for months. (Unless I get some amazing draft tip. Then I'll be back to show off)
  15. which I instantly regretted. Hang me.
  16. I too share lots of info when I have it. There's plenty that I wouldn't dream of posting on here due to the sensitivity, but where its harmless - why not? Whilst I'm not enamoured with GnF's grandstanding delivery and self important air, he has had some good info in the past. Delivered, of course, with a get out of jail card. I'd rather live or die by one sentence. Whatever, if you think this site is better without inside info then I, and I'm sure many others, are happy to leave the dork inner circle to their dreadful puns and really poor dad jokes. One more thing - the trading period is, to use a modern term, fluid. Just because things don't pan out doesn't mean they weren't discussed in great detail. If you're some [censored] with 3 mates who's gets the horn for pointing out mail that doesn't come to fruition, leave it out. No one cares.
  17. what a [censored] thing to say.
  18. Trenners changes everything
  19. Christ its Mikey 2.0
  20. Well [censored] I'm to share good oil, not play the bard. But you missed a bit. What's in a pouch?
  21. Well if we're going to do riddles.... Our marsupial is digging into his old pouch.
  22. theres a lot of scenarios on the table. one of which is 1 and Jack Steven for 2 and 3.
  23. [censored] giving that Scum a top 5 pick
  24. nothing more on Danger mate. I suppose these blokes are entitled to a weekend with their families. I suppose.
  25. I hadn't heard anything for nearly a week and thought this dead. hearing now things looking very positive. for those scoring at home, same source that gave me Clark, Roos and Bartlett. im very confident tonight.
