  1. " She now follows Richmond" Poor choice but I sympathise with her and wish her well.
  2. That being the case, why do think he tried hard to sell his own club - North - up the river to Queensland ? Demetriou doesn't care about Melbourne clubs rather he cares about himself and his salary package, first class pr1ck !
  3. Couldn't agree more, I had mates in Ballarat who loved Fitzroy like I do Melbourne and they were shattered. The AFL allowed other clubs to take their stars in Pert, Roos and Osborne standing idly by whilst the club folded - disgraceful.
  4. Sounds like Sheedy, picking the eyes out of the weaker clubs - first class t**d.
  5. Apparantly Neeld commented on 3AW - Grimes minor damage, 2 weeks and Jurrah will be back doing ball work in four weeks. No need for the stress pills boys.
  6. We have our problems with Jurrah and Grimes, so do the Lions with Brown. He injured his eye socket in a collision at training and it seems he will need further surgery. You have to feel for the guy.
  7. Not according to Neeld in his post match video, perhaps he is ill informed You may well be correct.
  8. We are able to promote two from the rookie list at the present time.
  9. In breaking news for those who have not yet visited Metricon Stadium, there were adequate supplies of beer and curry on sale. I reckon some blokes over indulged
  10. 47 now attending the dinner and I'm reliably informed that Chris Connolly will be bringing along a few celebs - Ron Barassi Laurie Mithen John Townsend I'm stoked as I haven't had the pleasure of speaking to JT and I did see him jag 3 goals in the GF 19/9/64.
  11. Anyone attending training at Metricon on Friday from 4.30 to 5.30 will be able to park adjacent to the basketball stadium and enter the ground through gate 2 or 3.
  12. I don't mind it either, better than some of the lame songs going around like the Dogs, Cats , North, Freo and Port. Irrelevant for the time being however - might hear it in 2013.
  13. There are 5 spots left in a Demonology league, if anyone is interested in joining you would be welcome - league number 276710
  14. Two other issues in 1987 which gave the Blues extra incentive to succeed were the loss of two players - Peter Motley to an horrific head on collision in his car and Des English to cancer. The Blues dedicated their finals campaign to these two guys and given our injury worries and the effects of a torrid PF, we would have struggled.
  15. Wilson didn't leave us for the Saints, he actually retired at the end of 1990 after badly tearing a hamstring in round 21 against Richmond which cost him a place in our finals campaign. He was subsequently surprisingly drafted by St Kilda however lasted just 7 games prior to retiring for good.
  16. Yes bd and I was a little more than pizzed off. High scoring game in 1991, round 3. Saints 24.10 and Demons 21.19 - we kicked ourselves out of the game whilst Willo had 7 kicks for a return of 6.1
  17. Brian Wilson was a talented and skillful player who had a few issues which prevented him from ranking with the guns you mentioned. He was often overweight which was the reason Royce Hart unloaded him from the Dogs, he was a tad lazy and he was a lair on occasions. Make no mistake though, he earnt that Brownlow - I witnessed most games in 1982 and he was brilliant - it was the one year when he was quite fit. Later in his career he spent time in the forward pocket where he excelled, his stats for MFC show 154 games and 208 goals. Personally I loved watching him play.
  18. Please do and let me know. I have promised to advise details of the training session/s to a few.
  19. Couldn't agree more, Cam has been an embarrassment.
  20. I find that extremely hard to believe - no offence to yourself as you can only report what you've been told - however, how the hell could either Brown or Rawlings offer a definitive opinion of Watts when they've been in the place for five minutes ?
  21. All a matter of conjecture Jack no doubt however one thing is certain and that is Eishold acted like a schoolboy forward with that kick, angle or not. He was close enough in to make it a certain goal had he concentrated on his approach rather than haphazardly slamming it on his boot. No excuses.
  22. Hey Deb, have you heard from the club re the Dees training sessions on the coast ? Also when does Number 5 is Alive turn up ?
  23. Lyon was all class from the beginning in 1986 Nutbean and was already dominating games in '87 as a 19 year old. He made the State side for the first of several in '88.
  24. What has happened to Glen Maxwell of late ?
  25. Three zip to the Pakistanis, now if the Saffers beat the Kiwis in the upcoming series, they will assume top position - so sad for the English in fact I'd like to see that !!
