  1. Good thing sporting allegiances are not hereditary BD.
  2. He has a triple digit IQ, much more than some posters on here.
  3. Will keep my red eye out for you and raise my thermos.
  4. I hugged and shook hands with many strangers after the final siren so I may have met you od ?
  5. Thank you, would love to see that vision again.
  6. In attendance along with 102468 others, Old Southern Stand, Punt Road end, HFF.
  7. Who else other than Barry and Gawn from the senior lists are playing please?
  8. Adams was a class footballer withn exceptional pace, playng in 7 grand finals for 6 wins. He did however play a lot of his footy on a wing both at the start and finish of his career.
  9. Pesky partnership between Philander and du Plessis, 6/198 and time for Lyon to chip in.
  10. Ricky played 80 games for us for 131 goals and was a very effective rover, forward pocket. He was our best player in the infamous PF loss to Hawthorn in '87, also represented the big V - not too shabby.
  11. Sounds like you Mum knows her footy and over a helluva long period too.
  12. Hassa was a champion of the club and whilst he roved in 1964, my recollection is that he held down positions in the centre and HFF more often than not.
  13. Harris back to his very best after a poor second innings in the 2nd test, seems the selectors continue to get it right. An outright certainly not out of the question.
  14. On actual performances for the club I can't see how you could go past Beames, he dominated in 3 successive GF wins in '39 '40 and '41 however who knows what might have been if the great Stuey Spencer had gone on rather than retire from the VFL at age 24. Stuey was BOG in 1955 and '56, he was a champion both on and off the field. He stated later in life that he regretted retiring from the VFL so early despite his many achievements in footy in Tasmania. We have had 3 other top class rovers in my time, Ian Ridley, John Townsend and Greg Wells - all outstanding footballers.
  15. Volunteers play a huge role in the success of sporting clubs, please take the time to read this club bulletin and if you are inclined to become involved make contact with Geoff on 0432900907 or [email protected] http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-02-24/volunteers-ready-for-2014
  16. 3/111 with the two guns at the crease, De Villiers and Amla are the keys.
  17. The skipper may have won back a few friends with his really gutsy knock last evening, if so, well deserved.
  18. 1/118 at lunch, Warner 75 no, shame he can't control his mouth otherwise he could be a real favourite of the Aussie public.
  19. In Watson, Pattinson Out Marsh, Siddle. We won the toss and chose to bat.
  20. My issue from day one with Strauss is that he doesn't get enough of the footy, sure he has good disposal but that isn't enough. Fair enough for James to have a season under Roos and I hope we see improvement, not holding my breath.
  21. Significant improvement in our mid field is what gives me hope for a better season. Not ecstatic about our performance tonight but quietly satisfied.
  22. Difficult though it may be for us frustrated supporters, we simply have to be patient and trust the footy department to monitor Mitch until he is 100% fit and ready to go. I've been a supporter of this club for longer than most who post here hence I know all about patience.
  23. Absolutely loved Liam as a footballer, met him twice and he seemed a really shy fella and a gentleman. Sadly, he has well and truly put paid to that conception and I don't hold out the remotest hope that he will play again at the top level.
