Reported on SEN that Luke Ball has requested a trade to Collingwood. Interesting. This trade week is shaping up as the biggest ever.

Would we be interested? Young, strong, promising defender. I think we could use an additional tall defender. Especially if the belief that Garland should go forward comes to the fore. Collingwood would definitely expect a decent return, but having fallen behind Leigh Brown in the pecking order, I don't think Nathan would be adverse to change.

I just thought the way he went about himself was a bit arrogant. Always trying to break tackles etc - played the game as if he thought he was better than what he was. Some of his off-field antics have a tough of arrogance about them too.

Freak. McLean turned into a slow, poorly-skilled, injury prone, slightly arrogant midfielder. I truly think Melbourne have done well out of this deal. Melbourne have had a problem for years with not making trades when they should (Yze being a prime example). This is a GOOD move.

dimmy - this wouldn't affect the deal with Casey, nor would it affect any home games at the MCG. I really only see positives in this potential deal, and no doubt the club will flesh it out. Imagine having two 'communities' that Melbourne can be apart of, when previously we've had none? Its all about growing our supporter base. One thing I've noticed about Docklands is that it is attracting more and more immigrants (mainly Asian students etc) - these people don't have any connection to a football club yet. We can target them with this.

This, to me, sounds like a very exciting prospect. In addition - the support of the Melbourne City Council is also very appealling. One campus at Casey and another in the Docklands. This would be appealling to the players and the club. The bubbledome is looking less and less likely to be able to fully accommodate the club - we already know the admin will be split. That is not what the club would want. I know its been in the works for a while - Cameron Schwab certainly had some inkling of it when he posted here a number of months ago - so hopefully it is developing.

Apparently contract negotiations with Richmond have stalled according to the Sun. I'd give pick 2 to get Deledio at Melbourne. Richmond would probably demand more... I reckon he will be a great player.
