I listened to the press conference. I was impressed and it takes a bit these days for the MFC to impress me. Between Mr. P Roos and Mr. P Jackson I think we have something that has not existed for a long time. We have IMO two people at the top who know what the hell they are doing. I now have something to look forward too at the MFC. I am however still fairly pessimistic about our team for 2014 and the next couple of years. A lot of work is required to make our list into a competitive unit. The upside is I believe we now have the crew to achieve it. I have hope this Spring and summer.

Followed closely by ten new players! Well seven I suppose.

Well Redleg now I believe. Two years is way short of what I would have expected. It will be interesting to see what is said at the Press conference. Someone is sure to ask about the short length. Does that mean he thinks we are way better than I think? I hope so but I am not holding my breath. However over all a very good day for the MFC.

Redleg this is pessimistic but I will believe it when I see it and not one minute before! Having said that I am getting a little excited!

I always get a bit between August and Christmas RN It is around February that reality sets in. This year we have a different off field crew and potentially a coach who knows what he is doing. If we can find a couple of good midfielders between now and the end of November we could become competitive in 2014. Competitive will be enough for me in 2014 after being uncompetitive for the last six years. I am prepared for a 4-5 year wait for finals appearances

Too late dc Yes I agree I cannot see one thing that is better than 7 and a large number of frustrating elements that just make it harder to work with. How is it possible after all the versions of windows that it is difficult to turn it on and off! Unbelievable. How is the health going? Chest getting better I hope.

Hi dc I have a new laptop with windows 8 The only improvement I can detect after seven days is Explorer has a spell check. Talk about a change of operating system for the sake of it.

They are always long bb when you realise after round one that your team is absolute rubbish that will struggle to be even competitive.

After another stellar year by the MFC I have begun to reflect on a few of the players. Two spring immediately to mind Byrnes, I understand the reasons for recruiting him but IMO he has been a large flop. Perhaps noble reasons but epic mistake Dawes similar to Byrnes but for a different reason IMO this guy is injury prone and will give us little over the balance of his contract. There were plenty of Pies people telling me long before the end of 2012 that he was injury prone. He would need to be dramatically different in 2014, Yesterday was the clincher for me. Could we give both to another club and pay half their salaries to get them off our list and create space? I know that it is doubtful anyone would want them but could we try?
