Scratch Matches 2020
There are a lot more than you and I wondering on that one. We gave the Weid a new contract last year and Recruited Brown from essendon as a KPF. First Game in 3 months comes and we pick a kid who has played nothing above under 18's last August? Why give a new contract to the Weid and why recruit Brown and why play Smith as a backman? Our FD beggars belief.

Fills me with convidence about team selection but says alot about who was selected.

14 players for 3 periods! what is that? The Blues flung Preston so where does that leave them in relation to a reserves team in the future? It was supposedly done for economic reasons. The Blues must be in trouble. Does any one know the situation re the VFL moving forward?

On this we are in total agreement Binman. Like most supporters tend to over rated their players. Quite a few have average skills, our inability to hit targets kills us week in week out. Then we have key position players like Tmac he is a third level KPF IMO, when he was geeting the second or third defender he was ok. Now everyone is awake to him and he gets the first defender. Never though I would say this but please put the Weid back in the team.

Then the only alternative I see is to trade him for what we need because at present he is wasted as a Wing/ HFF . If we have too many of the one sort trade one out.

That’s all well and good Binman but some plays have a set of skills that work well in some positions and not in others. Not all players can just play in any position in fact not many can. Our FD seem to be trying to make players fit a game plan that struggles to work rather than have a game plan that the players can implement. Why after four years are we still bombing it into the forward line?

Spot on Steve, he has been played as a half forward numerous times in the past and he is poor in that position. Play him as a mid it’s that simple. This playing people out of their natural positions is killing several players.

Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions
The AFL logic is always the same the players from teams with big patronige and as a result more ratings get softer penalities than the clubs like Melbourne. How else do explain Burgoyne getting only a fine?

Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions
Only if you play for one of the poorer clubs DJ. Who cares what Spargo gets he is not best 30.

Ok I will agree it is less than 90% but the players are not responsible for the players picked or what position they play in. Smith is not a Back man and neither is Harmes, why you pick Jackson for that games leaves me in wonderment. He had not played one game above under 18 level. From reports his practise form was average at best. Why pick him? He may be injured but why no AVB?

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Brainwashed by the MFC is closer to the truth. Poor team selection is at the root of yesterday's problems. Playing Jackson instead of the Weid or Brown. Harmes and Smith in the back line. Very ordinary decisions from a very ordinary FD.
