  1. You what’s effing great? We kept them out of the 8 and we are 8-0 for the top 11 sides played.
  2. It was a tough grinding win.Essendon we’re really good. But when are we are going to play a side that’s having an off day I wonder?
  3. Petracca 15 disposals at 26%disposal efficiency. Wow thats poor. Needs a reset fast.
  4. We have demonstrated this season that we take lower ranked teams for granted. After a bye there is resets and unknowns to fathom out. Essendon are playing well but I believe we can exploit their Swiss cheese defence. I doubt they can change their game to stifle us and will try to turn the game into a shoot out. Parish must be tagged.
  5. I feel like a cat thats not worried by the pit bull but petrified of the mouse.
  6. Jones has never been the enforcer type. That would be in AVDB’s portfolio. I would rather see him in the finals doing the protection.
  7. Spargo and Melksham will get about the same amount of touches but ensure quality disposal. Jones mainly handball receives and give off’s. No way he can match Jordan’s defensive pressure and tackles. Jones will only get a final if attrition raises its ugly head assuming we get there
  8. It got sidetracked when someone mentioned that Weid was gutted/disappointed with his very poor game and underwhelming return to the seniors. And now it must be a mental health issue. Well he should be very disappointed. A normal reaction for any footballer and especially for one of his ambitions. And something would be NQR if he wasn’t. If mental health issues are involved then he needs support, should not be playing and irresponsible for the club to persist in playing him. He has played 5 consecutive games and only the first could be considered satisfactory. I don’t recall Tmac getting the same kind of sympathy on here when he was having very poor form. I notice many of the Weid sympathisers here were very critical of Tmac at the time.
  9. Goodwin is not noted for making ruthless abrupt changes if he can help it. Tends to resist external pressure from media and fans to team changes as well.
  10. The Weid and Brown conundrum https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/viney-back-as-dees-debate-brown-or-weideman-20210623-p583ee.html
  11. This thread is getting tiresome. Most of the arguments have been fully fleshed out and now mostly waffling into other areas. If we are talking about mental health issues and cyber bullying then this discussion is getting out of control. Only serves to encourage more mental demons if there are any to begin with. The club will make the next move on what’s right. Disappointment is is something every delisted, injured, NQR or aspiring un-drafted player has to live with. He gets one more chance or he goes back to Casey to work on his game. I’m sure he will be well supported. That’s all that can happen for now. Too early to talk about career ending moves or leaving the club.
  12. Yep DVD’s Thats the slimmed down collection, used to be nearly double the size before I moved to Perth.
  13. You are an old movie fan BBO? Me too, I have a collection of about 2000 old films.
  14. Tim O’Brien from Hawthorn is a comparable example to Weid. Played 88 games since 2014. Stats almost the same. 9.8 kicks, I contested mark and 1 goal a game. Only played one decent season and that was in 2017. Would we have him playing for us? I doubt it. Only getting a game because veteran Gunston is injured and hawks are clapped out. New boy Koschitzke in his first season has already over taken him.
  15. I did mention him but he’s a midfielder and he can be inaccurate with set shots. We need a key forward to step up. No use leading and marking at 50 out and not being able to make the distance.
  16. Not just goal kicking accuracy. We really don’t have anyone who can reliably kick a set shot from distance 50 metres and beyond. This weekend we saw some monster goals from the likes of Green, Hipwood and others. Petracca can hit from long range but his accuracy is all over the place. Our mids have to constantly search wide and deeper into the forward for a set shot target. We don’t have a player who can mark on 50 and confidently go for a set shot. Both Browns can hit from long range but they are currently are not playing. We need some players that can take that option when our forward line is choked up. That’s one of my big gripes with Weid. He can win the ball whe moves up into space from goal but we have seen many of his set shots not even make the distance.
  17. Weid should learn how to attack the ball in the air like that skinny tomato stake.
  18. If he clunked marks we could excuse his poor goal kicking. If he kicked goals we could excuse his poor marking.
  19. Attrition starting to hit some of our rivals big names. Robbie Gray and Mitch Duncan look like they will be out for a while with knee injuries. Hope our boys stay safe.
  20. Port Adelaide true to form smashing up on a weak side. Flat track bullies. And Suns are playing badly enough to be a danger game for us when we meet.
  21. All too often losing when hugely favoured to win not an embarrassing record but a monkey on our backs that needs eradication.
  22. Next weeks cats away to the lions and bulldogs away to the eagles. They could both lose. Just super critical we beat the Dons.
  23. And how many of these ‘tough guy’ types end up as commentators. Lynch, Hall, Brereton, Mooney, Hunt, Dyer, Whitten, Taylor, Dipper, Campbell Brown to name a few. There’s media currency in thug behaviour.
  24. Bulldogs have to prove they can take on powerful clubs in hostile environments. Big game for them tonight.
  25. Interesting comparing Weid with Josh Schache and Tom Boyd at the Bulldogs. All high draft picks. All average around 9 touches, 1 goal and one contested mark. Boyd played 5 seasons and now gone. Schache into his 6th season as with Weid. Boyd and Weid both played their best game in a final but could never build on it. Schache has played only one game this season and destined for the chop.
