  1. They can have the praise, we settle for the four points.
  2. Right now its up to the players if they want to turn up to play. Some bad cultural dissent appears there. It’s like week to week ask themselves should we have a crack or not? Witness their very impressive win against Collingwood. We saw the signs of this last season where amongst a smattering of good performances they were dreadful. Interesting to see what kind of effort they dish up against us. I would never write them off.
  3. Imagine if we didn’t put the cue in the rack in the last quarter against the Hawks. Two out of three games they completely lose the plot in the last quarter. They was plenty of percentage for harvesting.
  4. Swans having a forward line revolving around Franklin is starting to look like a mill stone around their neck.
  5. At his age, he’s destined for the cattery.
  6. Round 9, 2019 when the umpires robbed us at Optus Oval in the last quarter against WC. Since then Optus has been pure joy attending.
  7. The concept and naming is a good idea but much going on there on the jumper. I prefer something more akin to the traditional elegant grace and simplicity of indigenous art. Reminds me of the old dreaded Schwabovian shield logo from the dark days. And why does the oversized bird of prey remind me too much of Meth Coke and the Dorks?
  8. I think we are doomed.
  9. When opposition coaches come out and say they are reasonably happy the way they lose to us speaks volumes to how we are tracking.
  10. The return of the notorious Dr D?
  11. Adem Yze said that the players will concentrate on defence in the last quarter as in every other game we have played so far. Confidence that no side can overrun us.
  12. WC came last in 2010. They had a bad start to the season like now then basically tanked. They ambushed us in round 8 though. We were favourites to beat them but they gave us a hiding. Kind of ruined the rest of our season. I would never take them lightly no matter how poor they are now.
  13. Time to rewatch our last weeks game against the tigers to get back some perspective.
  14. The rest of WC’s season.
  15. Barrass late out for WC. The Jackson tank is in full swing.
  16. What about Matt Eagles?
  17. Draper is lining himself up for a suspension soon the way he plays.
  18. That’s one improvement in his game. A couple of years ago he would have missed it.
  19. The week before we were 16.4 at 3/4 time and 19.5 before finishing with a rushed behind to 19.6. Good accuracy comes and goes and is generally reliable as Melbourne weather for all clubs.
  20. Umpires might be now taking note. No frees for him this round. In one instance in one of his well honed signature moves he was tackled from behind, flopped knees first forward, Adelaide player fell hard on his back and no free paid. Commentators were aghast why no free paid to wonder flopster. Not a good move telling the world he’s playing umpires for suckers.
  21. Tigers must be annoyed now they lost him. Ah well!
  22. Didn’t Oliver have 41 touches for over 800 metres gained this round?
  23. It’s a winning formula that other clubs have not come to terms with. Every club these days tries to flood then pick or scramble their way out of defence to where we already have them covered. Weight of entries eventually grind them down.
  24. Thats our regulation game plan. Been playing it since beginning of last season and usually works a charm. it’s part of Goodwin’s ‘win the contest mantra’. Kick it deep to the pockets in static play and when other teams flood the back line. This time the extra pressure from the tigers stumped us a bit but basically it made sure they couldn’t exit cleanly.
  25. Another side that didn’t play their natural game against us. Slow the game down and chip the ball around.. Game conceded before the bounce. We have spooked just about every other side in the comp.
