  1. Not so close if they blab to the media private matters without his Consent. And Billy is directly quoted in the paper. Better a dignified no comment.
  2. Same for you. Read The Age. I won't bother to link it for you.
  3. I doubt Gary and the exes have been blabbing. Have a read of this mornings The Age. Billy opens his heart.
  4. Find it distasteful when B grade celebrities blab about their private family misfortunes in the media. It appears Brownless has made sure the whole world knows. These things are best kept private and the usual rumours and sniggers will eventually die down. I am sure his family especially the kids will suffer more than they should for it. Very selfish and self serving.
  5. Must be confusion with Stephen Danks. A real artist who paints bombers. Not to be confused with the bull artist who jabs bombers. http://www.stephendanks.com
  6. I fail to see why Gary's current problems have anything to with his recent past associations with the club. Too much of a "serves him right attitude" here.
  7. It's always a bit of a conundrum with players and concussion. The game would not be the same without the physical contact that leads to head injuries. I am sure most players are aware of the risks as will the parents of juniors. Considering the amount of money the AFL generates there should be a fund set aside to help players in the future who may suffer long term side effects. Though the dangers are very real for all players, diagnosis can be difficult with some forms of acquired brain injury leaving the door ajar for opportunists to take advantage.
  8. Worse, the ones you can buy in a milk bar.
  9. I've seen a few of them actually smoking a cigarette.
  10. I thought they still did trial by ordeal over there. Something like you know, put an apple on the accused head and shoot at it with an arrow at a 120 paces. The archer hits the apple and the accused goes free. I guess an appeal would be done with the archer blindfolded.
  11. Or this. Should be made to wear it on their Guernsey for the season.
  12. A good news story? http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-02-09/max-gawn-goes-to-another-level-in-melbourne-match-simulation http://www.theage.com.au/afl/melbourne-demons/jack-viney-and-tom-mcdonald-fight-at-melbourne-training-20160209-gmphtf.html
  13. The insurance covers employes against legal actions that may be taken against them for whatever reason relating to their professional situation. In Hirds case no legal action was ever taken against him and it was him taking legal actions as a private individual and not as a representative of the club. He is not a defendant. I reckon he has Buckley's chance of winning his case.
  14. They don't have the Euro. They have the Swiss Franc which will make the exchange rate even more painful and Switzerland is a very expensive place to do business in.
  15. A telling prediction about good things coming for Hawthorn. They haven't stopped coming for them ever since.
  16. Major irony of all this is when it is all done and dusted the guilty players may walk away with buckets full of dollars just like Tird and Robinson have already done. Nefarious actions do pay.
  17. If she can turn frog Watts into Hulk I would kiss her feet and lick her toe jam.
  18. We did try China. There up is always the Middle East with all the petro dollars. Can't see the women's team being a hit there though. Anyway distractions are a handy tactic to take the spotlight off mediocrity.
  19. ............and wallows in filthy rotten Premierships.
  20. I wonder who is the "mother figure" at Hawthorn? Must have the joint wisdom and charisma of the Blessed Mary, Lady Di, Mother Theresa and Lady Gaga no doubt.
  21. Sure she has a reputation and credentials. Just not sure how a FIFO part timer could be of any benefit for a job description that is somewhat unclear for value and relavence to a football team. There are plenty of qualified persons of both genders without the big name that can do a welfare job full time that live local. Must cost a lot of money to get her and service her expense account. And she seems to be juggling a lot of other commitments. This one looks straight out of the Schwab playbook.
  22. Wish them well and no doubt capable persons but I question the four day fortnight and based from Perth position for Michelle Cowan. I just hope this isn't just a publicity beat up job.
  23. I remember all the ludicrous over optimistic posts on here the week before our most recent humiliating loss against Essendon. A 60, 80 or a 100 point win was thrown about everywhere. All it is going to take for them to beat us in round two irrespective of who they field is going to come down to if THEY want to win the game more than us. That is al it takes. When that ingredient comes into play we turn into spineless jellyfish no matter the opposition. No amount of positive thinking and support from us fans will make any difference unless there is a drastic change of mindset by the players from last season.
  24. Given the way we attract humiliation like a rotting carcass attracts blowflies it is not on beyond the realms of possiblity. Though last season was a reasonable effort for the past decade we had more than our fair share of disgraceful performances. I hope it is not the case this coming season but will not be surprised if we make Essendon look better than us given our track record.
