Though he seems generally placid on field I would love to see the convolutions, distortions and all round pretzel logic the MRP would dish up to get Martin off if he did a Lewis/Hogan jobbie. One for the ages just like the efforts the old tribunal used to do to help Nathan Buckley out of trouble.

There wouldn't be a prescription drug epidemic if all doctors were ethical. There's definitely more than one unethical doctor around.
-
That's right, a doctor working for a private non medical entity such as football club could be conflicted in certain situations by the interests of the employer as any other employee. Football is all about winning. In the heat of the game, anything can happen even on the sidelines.

Just as hard to prove a doctor lied as proving stock brokers do insider trading or footballers betting on their own games.

There are a lot of dodgy medical professionals these days. Lots of perfectly able disabled pensioners around and not hard to find a Dr Howlong. More of a business these days than a noble calling. Still not as bad though as lawyers and financial products professionals.

I believe the AFL should ask Carlton for a 'please explain' as to why two players who were downed, appeared injured and stayed down for a long time and who subsequently were found to have a cracked jaw and concussion post match were not medically assessed immediately. Looks like a dereliction of duty of care issue here. They should be investigated and punished.
-
No they wont. How can the club prove the doctor lied or over embellished his report? The severity of the suspensions are based on his report.

Good blokes don't have bad hair and are clean shaven. -
Looks like a very dangerous manipulation of the rules if clubs are keeping injured players on the ground to avoid the 20 minute rest.
-
Strawbs is still a bad boy at our games. Seen him enjoying a ciggie outside the ground a few times.

And a knee of course. -

OK a push. I don't recall anyone ever been suspended for an open handed whack of any description. Usually a reason for a player getting let off when a punch is suspected. -

Has anyone ever gotten suspended for an open palm slap before? -
Hope we can repay the favour next time against the squealers.
-
No, I'm not Rodney Grinter either.

That's what having a hard edge is all about. Turning the momentum of the game. Sometimes sacrifices are made. Could have been done better but we were on the way to another serious embarrassment before that happened.
-
This will be a good early test of our resilience and depth. Personally I'm happy to see the extra mongrel. I'm sure the players will learn and focus their aggression better for the remainder of the season. The next couple of rounds will show if it has hurt us but for now 2 for 2 is as good as it gets.
-
They should have hit them harder and got some value for their suspensions.
-
I hope the MRP look for how much acting and faking goes on after players go down when supposedly hit. If they don't even go to the sidelines for even a rudimentary check up then it should judged as automatic low impact and minimum force.
-
I just hope that tired weak excuse is retired for good when we may not play at our optimal best. Sick of hearing it every season since 2009.
-
He was doing good things last season I recall.
-
The last time we were unsociable was during the Northey years. For long periods after it was an aberration for one of our players to get reported.
-
Another nightmare to expunge. We can hit an early season trifecta.

Hard to see Trengove coming back the way the game is played now. Brayshaw still has a chance to turn things around.
