Boot Camp 2017 cancelled by Players
John Crow Batty replied to Drunkn167's topic in Melbourne Demons
At least they seem to be trying to be winners. -

I believe a lot of fans were unnerved at Goodwin’s and most of the clubs hierarchy’s silence at end of season. The emptiness is still there. -

It’s still along way off till round one. Fans are looking for some signs of atonement for the debacle of end of season. What we have seen so far in the off season does not inspire much confidence. -

Just like wishing winning tatslotto with your last dollar after being retrenched. -

Could say the same about Neeld and Roos. At least Roos gave himself a UBD and jumped. But going from the disrespect shown to him by the players in his final two games he would have been shafted also. Now it looks like Goodwin’s Next. -

Jones was not one of them from what I heard and that he might not be impressed with this group. -

Cameron Mooney appeared to give us an almighty dump on SEN this arvo from the snippet I heard. Couldn’t catch it all but mentioned something about 14 players and something about a laughing stock. -

Does not take a hardcock to work out which is the softest team in the AFL. -
Given Amazon’s octopus reputation they would be more likely interested in backing “winners” or populist clubs like Collingwood.

There is potential for a lot of stink to come out of all of this but the media will love it. Every high profile decision will be scrutinised more than ever before. Mr Christian can only be one of two personas. Either an incorruptible saint or the polar opposite. I hope he keeps distance from colourful characters, certain club officials and eschews personal gifts and favours.

The Ox and Marko sacked by SEN
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Funny that. I know a close relative of hers and he confirms it according to him. His nickname for her was not very flattering. -

Every other club come out and boast how physically tough their training and fitness regimes are. WTF is going on? Looking at you leadership group and captains. -
The Ox says the Dees in danger ....
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would suggest a little unfair to say he wasted his career. He was flying high before his multiple knee reconstructions and was still serviceable in between. Unfair also to deflect into his personal problems. If he kept his knees in good shape he would have been arguably better than Wayne Carey and we know about his personal issues. He was the best Melbourne player I have witnessed pre injuries. He was the type of player that if fully fit could have delivered us premierships. -

OX knows there are a lot of other deficiencies that may trip us up. He is just being face saving for us in case we do fall over. Like fake news there are also fake football clubs and if we can’t use the humiliation piled on at the end of last season as a spur to finally make a genuine move for success I might be fully convinced we are not the real deal and never will be. The bath water addiction of the players is more of a worry than injuries at this stage. -
Complacent? That was our season after we beat WC.

"I'm sure Tex Walker's eager to try and knock me around the ear but it's all a bit of fun. In the end I am mates with a lot of these guys so if I wasn't going to get any stick I’d be pretty disappointed," he said. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/jake-lever-holds-no-grudges-against-adelaide-taylor-walker-as-he-starts-preseason-training-with-demons-20171120-gzorg2.html

Club induced inertia prevented me from cancelling my auto renewal. People may bag casual not fully committed members but they are the ones that bring true riches to the club. Die hard supporters just keep the club away from oxygen support. We may lose up to ten thousand next season and perhaps another ten thousand bandwagon jumpers who would have joined if we we did make the finals.
