Very unfunny Biffen ………………………………. and the rest of you cheap mockers. All of you seem burdened by poor taste. I must add that while I obviously do not have a trough, I did commission a very elegant chamber pot. It has a delightful (and quite practical) gilt edge. The downside is that the maid demands extra remuneration to evacuate it.

Bah those plates look like Coles Cafeteria issue. Nothing like my limited edition Wedgewood.

Impossible question really. However, if both were fit Tomlinson would clearly be in front for reasons of experience and consistency of performance . Most would rate him as a “better player” Kk has been cruelled by his concussion issues. One can only hope that he successfully overcomes these in order to show what he is capable of

My membership was waiting when I returned to The Manor this evening. I see what @Lucifer's Hero meant by shrinking contents. Not only was the calendar AWOL but also the plastic pocket to keep my card in was nowhere to be found. Now that is tight !!!!!!

Dees Post Operating Loss for 2019
Bitter but optimistic replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
About 10 years ago, the owner of the Romsey Pub applied for a pokies licence. I believe he planned to transfer licences from another venue he owns. A vocal local group and the council opposed this and, after a convoluted legal fight, successfully thwarted the proposal. The result is that the Romsey Pub has been closed for the last 2 or so years and is unlikely to ever reopen. At least 15 local jobs went with it and the good punters of Romsey continue to spend their money elsewhere. I don't want the MFC to become the AFL's version of the Romsey Pub. -
In view of the above, I shall immediately write to the MFC and give them a jolly severe chastising for not having "The Manor" at Romsey first on their mailing list.

Dees Post Operating Loss for 2019
Bitter but optimistic replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not sure what you mean by that statement I bolded Nev. Surely you're not suggesting that pokies are going to fade away? I have a punt on the footy every now and then. I rarely punt on the horses and I reckon pokies are just a dressed up way of flushing your hard earned down the dunny. And even though I am a minor participant, I certainly understand the personal and social damage that gambling can cause. However, there is also a terrible cost involved in smoking, drinking and even misuse of prescription drugs. Do these products cause more or less heartache (pun not intended) than gambling? I don't know? However, I do know that Woolies and Coles still [censored] the first two and chemists the third. So what's the answer? [censored] if I know. However, I again state my perplexity as to why the MFC opts out of legal revenue raising ( and let's be honest, said revenue is just going to to some less "socially conscious" organisation) when a lot of other bastards (including our opposition and the AFL itself) are getting a slice of it. -

This gambling business confounds me. Like it or not, it is legal and a matter of personal choice I don’t understand the pressure on sporting clubs to take some sort of high moral ground and opt out of it- 136 replies
