Bit harsh I reckon, Col. Fogarty is enormous, and uses it very well. He also had the ideal position on the ball when he took his marks. Unless you’re similarly built, it’s near impossible to shift a guy like that in that situation. Not sure there’s any more Petty could have done. He was excellent today as our key defender otherwise.

And now I don’t know if you’re making a joke about my joke, or what. It’s so meta…

I for one am hugely grateful for the game day thread this year. I want and need to vent, and understand others need to do likewise. If I say dumb stuff, or bag any players for, you know, being a human AFL footballer with flaws, I’m even more happy to be called out for it, and I’ll do the same. As weird as it is, we’re all here because we’re invested in the club. We need to sublimate our lack of control somehow, and as personally varied as that is, game day thread is a (mostly) harmless part of that sublimation. All that said, Fritsch just has to go.
-
It’s a joke, McQueen. Well spotted, though.
-
Nope. He doesn’t do that. I know cos I read it on here.
-
Funny old win. Pretty good shape going into finals (at least physically) which might depending on Dogs v Port on Friday, begin next week. Only change I’d make is Viney for Sparrow, May for Smith (great work Joel), and Tmac for Fritsch.
-
Happens every week, it’s some kind of reality disconnect.
-
Naaaaah. I’d drop ‘im. Not defensive enough, too lazy, big hair, blaaaady, blaaady blaaady blah. Honest to God, if I ever read someone saying he should be dropped on here again, I’m gonna………
-
For all those who’ve ever made the “I’d drop Fritsch” comment, I wonder if you’ll ever get it. HE IS OUR BEST FORWARD. There’s no reality in which he’s not.
-
You’re joking….
-
Garbage. Stupid comment.

Like snow in summer.

As of right now, they’re right, but only cos they’re better than us.
-
They just want it more. And they know they can beat us. It’s that simple. How we can let that be the case, nobody will ever be able to convince me. They have literally nothing to play for. Nothing. This is just terrible football…..nothing excuses it.

A bit like Adelaide’s let down after their biggest game of the year. Oh, hang on…..
-
Our inability to defend their running short possession game through the middle is almost comical. They’ll lose the sniff in the second half I suspect, but it’s very frustrating, and offers a lesson in how to play us. When our all court defence is right on, it’s harder to execute, but the Crows (again a shadow of their best personnel) are making it look very easy at times. If I were Brad Scott, I’d be liking what I see.
-
So. They’re obviously trying to pick us apart with the short kicks and running hard through the middle. We know that’s what they’re doing, right?
-
The obvious question is, why don’t we bring our pressure game every opening quarter? The obvious statement is, Joel Smith has been our best so far.
-
The first 10 minutes for us in every game this year have been really telling. And today we’re just not on. Crows are basically dominating It’s gonna be a slog…..🤨
-
One thing’s for sure, no matter how we win today, the media pundits (they aren’t analysts) will spin it in some way as to underrate our Premiership chances………..and I love it.

This is when you win premierships. 😎

5 points down against the Dogs with 30 seconds left in the game. Jayden Hunt (just back into Grand Final side after his ankle) makes a crazy, flying intercept from a Caleb Daniel bullet to Aaron Naughton inside their forward 50 and he takes off……3 bounces, runs around Macrae, handballs over Libbers head to take it back himself, spots both Kozzy and Nathan Jones (on as medi-sub in the last 10 minutes) two out against Bontempelli just out of the goal square. Hunty roosts it…….Kozzy perches on the shoulders of Bont, takes his inevitable one-handed mark of the year, lands on his feet, and while the Bont is on his haunches, slips a handball to Jonesy, who takes 5 more strides and slams it into the 2nd tier of a max allowed capacity 40,000 at the ‘G. Dees premiers with 2 seconds left on the clock, and I’m there to see it! oops…….wrong thread.

Most importantly, did ch 7 make a judgement? If not Christian won’t even look at it. They left it at “momentum”. Which is bulltish if you look at the side view. Hawkins very obviously flung him down in the last movement, based on the side view. But you’re right, won’t be looked at.

So. Assuming we win tomorrow (I know, I know), if we lose next week and Port beat Doggies, we’re off to Adelaide. Fate in our hands and all that. Unless Dogs beat Port, which they will….maybe…..not….probably….aaaaah, who the [censored] knows. 🤯

We wish, kev. It’s all about the money.
