  1. Good people, the ones I know. I think they’ll handle the loss well.
  2. He is a unique beast, in every possible sense. A force for good purely by how much joy he’s bringing to people, obviously us as supporters, but really anybody even vaguely interested in footy. He is a pure gift to the AFL, a beacon of larrikin sportsmanship, a ‘character’ of the kind all sports crave and can be proud of, let alone market the game on. I can only imagine the effect he’s having on kids who love a sports hero they can thrill to, but also trust as authentic, respectful, fun-loving, passionate and dedicated. And then there’s his football ability. We’ve never seen any player like him.
  3. He’s a liability against two ruckmen who contribute to the game otherwise in ways he can only dream about, witness Friday night. Gawn and Jackson are going to be an enormous factor. Martin is better than the youngster they had previously, but not by much. .
  4. Any team that has Motlop as guaranteed selection isn’t serious. Hard to believe how flaccid and un-united Port are. Rabble….
  5. My golly goodness Port are front-runners. What a truly gutless effort. I wouldn’t want to play them in the GF. They’re not worthy of the whipping. 😎
  6. And that’s all they’re gonna get.
  7. They are also, to be kind, not hard.
  8. More than Smith’s?
  9. Port are woeful. Flat track bullies is exactly what they are. If only we could play them in the GF. Shame.
  10. Yep. Good analogy. Maybe. I guess it adds a little insurance. Definitely a roll of the dice otherwise.
  11. Couple of issues. The risk is very high. Grand Final speed and intensity makes that more likely. If the choice of medical sub was taking this into account, I guess that’s something, but what if a midfielder then goes down? The other issue is long term hammy issues with an aggravated tear. As wisdom has it, don’t play injured players. I remember watching Phil Davis play in GWS’ GF, with his NQR lower leg issue, and it was horrible. Bad decision.
  12. Once again, Jack earned 5 free kicks. Next best was 2. It’s his post- suspension trend. Didn’t get caught once, lots of score assists. Agree with @Ron Burgundy, thread is past its ‘used by’, or should never have been.
  13. Scanning will tell the story. Not to get too complicated, but the way it happened, by landing on his straightened leg, thus compressive force transferring up to his Lumbar facet joints, which can absolutely refer pain to the posterior thigh thus tightening the hamstring as a reaction, it’s entirely possible his back is the cause. This would be fantastic, because 2 weeks is ample to rest, loosen, stretch and away he goes. The ‘typical’ hammy is a running injury, accelerating or decelerating, resultant from a wicked conspiracy of length and tension, thus a tear. If May’s is a tear, it’s ‘grade one’, scan will reveal it and he’s a no go, because 3 weeks minimum. The cruel thing is he‘ll likely feel fine by the GF, even be up to full sprint. The problem is that the risk of re-tear under 3 weeks is very high, particularly in a game situation - fatigue combined with ballistic, accelerating take-offs and speed contrasts. The scan will tell all. All Demonland fingers crossed please.
  14. And how much is he loving it?
  15. Yep, thanks deebug. One of a triptych, Shaun Smith Mark of the century. Other two from alternate angles. Just a little Dees spirit as one gets in the lift……assuming my apartment building neighbours won’t mind (only one other is a Dees fan). 😎
  16. No football watcher in history ever has…..
  17. In the immortal words of Mr. Lennon…..Instant karma’s gonna get you. Happy listening, Isaac….
  18. Nothing, back to sleep…
  19. Sometimes it’s sweet being right, rpfc. He’s all demon, is Jack Viney. Made special sharp for the pointy end of things.
  20. Ok. 12:14 am by my clock. 95 it is.
  21. 60?! Please. 70 minimum….
  22. Perfect summary, AoB. The planning and ability for these guys to have a ‘finals gear’ just can’t be understated. This team is now doing exactly what they were designed to do. And they’re doing it for all of us, which they’ve made wonderfully clear. It’s a beautiful thing in a beautiful game.
  23. What about the trade Viney brigade?
  24. Well. Has to be asked I guess. Bwahhahahahaha…..
