  1. That's all well and good as long as you realise that the MRP may not agree with your point of view and you don't mind playing the odd fortnight or so without your hard at it players. Tough is good, reckless is foolhardy.
  2. Junior gets 2 weeks according to tweet from Martin Blake. Edit: Confirmed in tweet from AFL
  3. Hey, I thought we were playing Jeopardy and you had already provided the "golden line" in the post to which I was responding :-)
  4. Maybe we should be getting Pfizer to sponsor?
  5. boom tish! I hope you are right... I would like to see us jump out of the blocks with early goals and not let up for the entire four quarters - show no mercy!
  6. A Homberger with the lot? Would you like fries with that?
  7. I just wish I could attend, but being in Sydney means I will just have to be there in spirit... I do however, hope to make it down for the round 4 clash with the Doggies. Are there any plans for some sort of a meet-up on that day?
  8. Well, if Adelaide crows are anything to go by, it must be possible to increase muscle mass etc in a relatively short time: "The pre-season focus on strength has seen a handful of Crows increase their muscle mass in the space of two months. Rory Sloane is leading the charge with a 3.5kg increase, and Brodie Smith (2.5kg), Rick Henderson (2.4kg) and David McKay (2.3kg) aren't far behind him." http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default.aspx?newsid=127517
  9. Agree... and despite the fact I started a thread about his legacy, I hope we can stop using him as a constant reference point when posting.
  10. No offence, but I would have thought that every single person attending the service would be united in their grief?
  11. Does the "P" in P-Man stand for Pessimism? ;-) I think our midfield will do a lot better than we give them credit for.
  12. Don't tell me he's now jumping on McDonald as a cause célèbre.
  13. FB: Bartram - Frawley - Garland HB: Grimes - Rivers - Bennell C: Jones - Trengove - Bate HF:Petterd - Watts - Howe FF: Green - Clark - Davey R: Jamar - Moloney - Magner I: Martin - Bail - Dunn S: McKenzie E: Tapscott - Blease - Sellar Nield has played Bennell every NAB Cup game and he was not playing for Casey on Saturday evening, so I think we can safely assume he will be a starter on Saturday. I think Tappy and Blease will get one more run at Casey before coming in unless it's decided that Grimes needs a bit longer, in which case one of them will go straight into the back line. For me it's a toss up between Dunn and Sellar as to who will be the emergency, but I feel Dunn may get the nod and go onto the Interchange bench.
  14. Nice to see the following tagged onto the end of the article about the possibility of a Jim Stynes series between Melbourne and Dublin. http://www.smh.com.a...0324-1vrbj.html
  15. dees best and fairest? - Green (Brad will bounce back from being relieved of the captaincy, in the best possible way) dees best 1st year player? - Magner goals clark will kick? - 54 games jurrah will play? - 11 dees surprise of the year? - Bennell reported for rough play premiers? - Hawthorn first coach to get sacked? - Guy McKennea biggest off field controversy? - GWS rorting the system games won by gws? - 0
  16. Quite likely the case...but my post was in response to a comment regarding the numbers turning up at the game.
  17. Unfortunately I'm pretty certain I heard something on the news last night (wasn't paying close attention), where they were saying 35,000 tickets had already been sold and they were hoping for 40,000 at the Swans v GWS game
  18. Actually, I often tip against them in order to increase their chances of winning.
  19. I think Petterd should be afforded that honour.
  20. Just the once... you are in Demonland/Demonology as well? :-)
  21. Just tweeted... Jim Stynes Achievement Scholarships for Young Australians: http://www.katelundy...ng-australians/ 37 scholarships will be available each year (in honour of the number 37 jumper Jimmy held up when he set out on his battle against cancer) "The Gillard Government will provide $3 million to establish the Jim Stynes Achievement Scholarships. As a partner in the program, the AFL will provide an annual contribution of $150,000 a year for the next five years. The scholarships will be administered by Reach and the AFL in partnership with the Government."
  22. I wonder how many of those number 11 jumpers have been sold in the past few days... also wonder if there will be a special commemorative jumper made available with the express aim of raising further funds for Reach - a green one would be a nice touch.
