Ugh... How many of this exact thread do we need???? There is no 'disturbing lack of communication' on this issue. It couldn't be clearer. Jack had some injury issues that interrupted his pre-season. He is working through those and will have to perform well at VFL level in order to earn a call-up. VFL season starts on Saturday, we will be told how he plays, I assure you. This has been repeated ad nauseum across all manner of different media. We are not going to get a minute-by-minute commentary on how Jack went at training today, whether he thought Avatar should've won Best Picture or if he decided this morning it would be easier to just wear the same pair of jocks again rather than do a load of washing. Honestly people, read a book or something to pass the time.

we should be allowed to train on the G

If you pop past the MCG on any given day during the week you will see that the ground is in a constant state of repair. They dig up and re-turf patches of the ground frequently, top-dress the grass, spray poisons on it and besides that they have the UV light panels covering about 1/4 of the ground at all times. The oval is worked on constantly to get it up for each weekend's games, there's nothing bloody-minded about there being no training there during the week, it's just not possible with the amount of maintenance required. Keep in mind that the stadium is so high these days that the surface gets precious little sun during winter. No different to Etihad. Even when each team gets their one 'training run' on the surface during the year, they aren't allowed to use the centre square and often one of the 50m arcs. We have it tough training with no goal posts, how would we go with no corridor and only one end of the ground available?!? -
Fair call. As for the rest of the conversation, might I suggest a little critical thinking? I recommend focussing on the part where I seem to insist on learning information about a player's bowel movements.
-
Wow. That's awesome.

But I'm a member and therefore a stakeholder and have the right to be told what Jack Watts had for breakfast this morning. Furthermore, did he have an Easter Egg Hunt in his backyard and did he eat any of the chocolate?? Did the club nutrionist give that the all clear?? Has Jack had any unusual bowel movements lately??? I HAVE A RIGHT!!!!

I'm not a Bruce basher generally. He's been one of our best throughout his whole career but lately he's lost something and all last year and again this year I've watched make shocking decision making errors that put enormous pressure on young teamates which is the exact opposite of what we need from our 2nd most senior player. I hope he gets it together but if not his spot can no longer be guaranteed.
-
So if he wasn't used as a key forward and spent a lot of time benched how did he impact our structure?? I think you'll find Green, Petterd & Dunn deserve that credit.
-
And to think people say we don't do well from our rookie list. This kid was given offers to leave this off season. His story is a big tick for him, our recruitment and our list management.
-
When it comes to physicality, he's no better than Bennell. That's as bad as it gets for a bloke his size. Infuriatingly soft. Must be praying GC or GWS give him a chance.
-
So great to see Rohan have a good game today. Really great bloke. Hope that last kick doesn't weigh on him too much.
-
Another ordinary game from Cam. Physicality isn't his problem, it's decision making. He puts teamates under the pump chronically and misses/ignores teamates in space too often for a player of his experience. Will run out of chances soon.
-
I would also like to stick my neck out and put it on record that I reckon the Ablett boy will make it one day
-
I rationalised the expense by figuring if I have one less pie and one less beer at each of the 4 games that should cover roughly $50 each time.
-
Sorry, I just worry that there might be those out there who don't fully appreciate this. I don't want to see this terrific club initiative ruined by people who don't get it.

Confidentiality agreements aren't a bit of fun designed to make everyone feel special, they're serious legal documents.
-
I'm not sure you're getting it. The members of the group are bound by confidentiality agreements. There will be no reports.

No Sylvia. Disaster. Newton. Double disaster. Please make a fool of me Juice.
-
It's pre-game only. Tell your mates you'll meet them at the seats just before the game starts.

I mean really. Comparing Liam Jurrah to Sean Charles is an appallingly ignorant generalisation. Liam is from one of the remotest parts in the country. Sean is from 70km out of Melbourne.

The Footy Show producers don't just guess who the squad might be. They are provided by the clubs but are not binding when it comes to Thursday night's official selections.
-
This is all of their 8th year.
-
Right. Well it's just garden variety bullsh!t then. Honestly. Rnd 1.
-
I get it. April Fool's Day. Good one.
-
Isn't it obvious Cards13?? They're both talented aboriginal footballers. They're therefore identical in every way and would certainly have the same personalities and deal with every sort of adversity in exactly the same fashion.

I'm not rejoicing in our membership numbers. I didn't say that this is cause for great celebration because we have broken the back of all our problems and reached the promised land. I said it is encouraging. You must learn not to think in extremes only. And this improvement, albeit slight, is still improvement and has occured despite the prognostications of doom by many that after a winless pre-season we could not possibly repeat our record membership levels of last year. Here we are, in a near worst-case scenario following Rnd 1 yet we are ahead of record pace. As for looking at membership as a competitive market place. We are not competing for members with the other 15 clubs. Our potential members are not currently weighing up their choice between a Hawthorn, Collingwood or Melbourne membership.
