I'm just making comment on how whenever players are out of the team for a while they slowly morph into god-like game turners that will make everything better as soon as they return. I'll bet it is happening on the Saints boards, they'll have Roo pencilled in for 8 goals over there for sure. The far more likely scenario is that both Liam & Nick will have excellent passages of play but will take a couple of weeks to re-adjust to the speed of the game. It's now happening with Ricky who, indeed, started playing some nice football before his injury, but people are carrying on as if he's some kind of goalkicking machine who will come back next year on his new deal and tear the comp apart. In reality, if he hadn't been injured, it's pretty likely he would've had a couple of very quiet games in the wasteland of our forward line and there'd be occasional calls to send him back to Casey for a rest and to regain touch. Instead, his stock is rising and rising because he hasn't put in any 'bad' games.

I think you mean he had 2 or 3 assists in that one game last week. He's played 2 games this year in the VFL, he scarcely touched the ball in the first and had a couple of assists and a few goals in his one good game last week. You're being extremely unrealistic about his impact. Liam is a very exciting prospect who has a lot of X-Factor, but to suggest that in his first game back he is going to just be roaming free around the ground creating havoc and turning the game on its ear is wildly unrealistic.

Thank you for illustrating my point. Liam averaged 2.2 goals and 0.7 goals assists from his 9 games at the end of last year. His absence has made our hearts grow so fond that he is now a 3 goal, 4 goal assist player. If this is how good Jurrah becomes with half of season of anticipation I shudder to think what they're predicting from Riewoldt at the Saints forum. They've probably got him slotting 10 and handing off another 20.

Remarkable the God-like aura players seem to take on around here when they're out injured. You'd think Petterd was a Coleman Medallist in waiting. We're seeing it with LJ too, people seem to think Matthew Knights is being kept up at night by the prospect of a 9 game player with a 2.2 goal average returning to dominate the contest.

Why can't I vote for our current guernsey??? JCB, for once I agree. And frankly, I thought that given the white in StKilda's guernsey, our clash jumper created more clash than our usual jumper would've. I would imagine the problem is their black back v our navy back, and if this is the case, then wouldn't our red & blue clash guernsey have been a better alternative?? My only real problem with the clash guernsey issue is how the AFL reach the decision that there is actually a clash. For those interested, Cam Schwab confirmed on Twitter the other day that we will be wearing our home guernsey against Essendon this weekend.

Misleading stats in terms of impact and contributions as a key forward. Hawkins has kicked 3 goals in 8 matches, had 4 bags of 4 goals and kicked 5 in one outing. And what 'early poor contributions'??? He kicked a 3.2 and a pair of 4.1s in his first 5 games. Our Michael's kicked 3 goals once. He's no good. We all know he's no good. Frankly if he'd never taken that screamer I can't imagine anybody, anywhere would ever think he's any good. Clearly nobody else in the competition rates him in the slightest, he was effectively an undrafted player last year.

Does anybody actually read any of the thread they're posting in?? The next person to suggest Newton should be elevated should have their account suspended for a day or something.

Perhaps some need to tone down the excitement on this one. It's only going to be a logo. Various parts of the facility are not yet complete so it's not ready for a full journo/PR tour. The incomplete parts would be the more aesthetic or "spiritual" elements like the branding and the historical elements which will give the place the "Home of MFC" kind of feel which are obviously the most important in terms of publicity and media. "CHECK OUT THIS CONFERENCE ROOM" doesn't make for much of a headline.
