You failed to answer the final part of my question Petra.

It is not so silly if the replacement is not up to Watts standards. Most unlikely this will happen with late 2nd or even 3rd round picks. Even if the kid picked is a POTENTIAL star it's not going to help us next season. He would take a couple of years to fully develop and this could be too late for our premiership aspirations. Can you name more than 10 players in our best 22 with adequate skills? MFC is going to chuck one out. However, all shall be revealed. Look, I would love to be proved wrong on this one but it just won't happen. We will drop a couple of spots in '18.

Why is Lever the better player? Their stats in the disposals area are almost identical. Lever is a defender, Watts a forward. Don't tell me you think Lever has better disposal than Jack.

Exactly. When you read what rival coaches say about Watts in PRAISE it makes one think that Goodwin is letting his personal feelings towards Jack outweigh logic by offloading a polished, proven finisher. These coaches that are in charge of teams that make FINALS footy say they would like Jack in their team. A star like Dangerfield also would like Jack in his team. Down the slippery slide next season just as we were on the up. Very depressing. Another year wasted.

Being competitive is one thing but conrolling aggression is another. I think we had the worst record of suspensions this year than any other club. Vince, Lewis, Hogan, Salem and Jack Viney was very lucky on a couple of occasions he wasn't pinged. What is Goodwin demanding here? Forget the rules just get the ball? You MUST have a blending of hard players with those of great skill. When we do get the ball we muck it up too often. How would this be reduced? Someone who can kick with precision. JW is one of the few we have in our team at the moment.

Polish. Think of a painter painting your house. He works hard sanding and preparing the areas to be painted. (Jones). Then there is the final phase, the finish. If paintwork is shoddy after all the preparation you would not be pleased but if the painter (Watts) finishes the job perfectly you will be happy. We must not lose our polish (skill) we cannot afford it. Sadly, we are still light on for finishers. Hope you stay Jack and for heavens sake don't let us see you in a black and white jumper with your old mates Lynden and Jeremy.

Do you honestly believe we would give Jack up for any old pick in the draft? If so Goodwin and company have rocks in their head.

So if a footballer is at his prime at the age of 26 then why are we giving 26 year old Jack to another club? Makes no sense.

You know the players wouldn't agree? Do you have inside information? I used to think Goodwin might be a good coach but if things backfire next year because of Jack Watts exit I will know for sure he has big weaknesses.

Had a look at Melbourne v Richmond stats for JW Round 5 2017. 9 kicks 9 handballs and a goal. Yes, against Richmond where he would HARDLY GET A KICK in your opinion. Looked like much the same players in the Richmond team then as it was today. Maybe Tigers on drugs!!!

We get a pick for Watts. Wow, that's adequate replacement for JW. Not! I certainly hope we would not accept any draft pick. Pig in a poke is not the answer. If he has to go we need a player already established, with class.

Read between the lines Redleg. Look at his comments more thoroughly. Slagging in a polite way. I'm losing faith in Mr Goodwin as a coach. Fantastic player but coach? Not so sure. Bring back Roosy.

People keep harping on poor season preparation from Watts. Can anyone imagine a fat, flabby Jack Watts failing the skinfold test? And the only deaf ears would be yours and the other members of a minority group sticking the knife into Jack. Maybe they haven't played much footy themselves.

Sadly, I have NO faith in those guys. You must have skill on your list. Trade Watts and we are downhill skiing big time. Watched Lever closely today. Is he as good as some are making out? 15 disposals is not sensational and there was plenty of opportunity to have more. The Tigers had the ball in their forward zone so often. Looked up Lever's average disposals for the season. 16. The much maligned Watts had an average disposal rate of 15.9. not any real difference there and we do know his disposal is elite. Bad decision MFC.

Hearsay is not always a good source of information.

The key word in your concluding sentence is IF. A big IF indeed. We can't accept a second round draft pick. It is just a pig in a poke. Could be OK could be awful. Hope Jack stays as nearly three quarters of us do.
