  1. 6. Tom McDonald 5. Clayton Oliver 4. Bayley Fritsch (So very talented, a real star in the making.) 3. Joel Smith 2. Alex Neale Bullen 1. Jordan Lewis
  2. According to your comments Joeboy, McDonald, Fritch and Oliver played on their own against Collingwood. 3 versus 22 , a commendable effort to get within 7 goals. You do tend to put players down whenever we lose don't you? It's called a knee jerk reaction.
  3. OK, we had a stinker. Everything went against us particularly the bounce of the ball which seemed to be projected by Shane Warne many times when we went for it. Richmond lost to Weagles by eight goals. Does that mean they can't win the flag again? Don't think so. We had a downer but after 6 brilliant wins in a row we were due for one. Colingwood, on the other hand, could not have played any better. Just think folks if Maxy hadn't missed that sitter against Geelong we would be clear second right now. Living in Perth and with no Foxtel I have only seen Melbourne live three times this year against Richmond, Hawthorn and Collingwood. Oh dear, I certainly haven't seen the Demons at their brilliant best have I?. Maybe I am a jinx. Not sure if I should watch the Port Adelaide game after the bye.
  4. Half of those free kicks would be the result of weak umpires being intimidated and responding to crowd noise in Perth. Harry Beitzel and Jack McMurray, great umpires of the past, would not have been sucked in.
  5. Certainly moves like Cam and better disposal.
  6. Max Gawn What did he do to cause the 50 metre penalty? Watched it several times on replay and I am none the wiser. What did I miss?
  7. Given our almost annual visit to the cattery I was shocked and disbelieving when reading the report on our game V Carlton. It revealed that Carlton has not played at Geelong since Round 20 1997. 21 years! How can this be possible? AFL, please explain. Talk about looking after the so called major clubs in the competition.
  8. Wonderful ! This is just like the magnificent Melbourne teams I had the pleasure of watching in the 50s. Have no mercy! Grind them into the turf! was their attitude. Fantastic TEAM effort. Unless Richmond or Eagles score over 120 points today and I can't see that happening, we will be the highest scoring team in the competition. Happy times.
  9. Number 2s would be pretty strong . Bob McKenzie (snr), Robert Flower, Stephen Tinjay and Nathan Jones for starters.
  10. Surprised Max Gawn is not in top 5 for accuracy. Oh, Gawny you are a wonderful player but that miss against Geelong! Then another a week later. We love you though Maxy. All Australian awaits you.
  11. Joeboy, I enjoy your reports BUT this bias against Tyson is becoming very, very tiring. He could kick ten goals but would be roasted for missing one. Please Joeboy just leave Dom off your list. It is so repetitive. We know what you will say weeks ahead.
  12. Great to see Gus showing the form that made him such a high draft pick.
  13. Hope Leigh Fisher was not the guilty one.
  14. In raising this topic I did not express MY view on this matter. Just seeking opinions and thoughts.Merely asked a question. It seems that the issue is fairly evenly divided among posters. My personal view is that Leigh Fisher is a good umpire and honest but maybe he should not be placed in this scenario. I am sure he will be fair in his decisions tomorrow. Go Dees!!!!!
  15. He really looked like he had played with his new teammates for many seasons. A real team player. Well done Charlie!
  16. Interesting point. Eagles have for years been given an armchair ride by the chumps when playing at home. Also a lot of duckers and stagers in their team. Freo I cannot explain. Their crowd at home does make a lot of noise.
  17. Felt pretty good in 1955,56,57,59,60 and 64. Used to be branded a 'premiership barracker' Lucky guy wasn't I? I am starting to feel that our window of opportunity has flown by. Well, mine anyway.
  18. Sadly, it looks like Sam is not going to be the star his grandfather Murray was. He has been on the scene for a while now but has failed to make any impact. It would be lovely to be proved wrong on this one though. Good luck Sam. Make me eat my words and boot 5!
  19. Thanks for that Dr G. Yes, it was the qualifying final with recruits Green and Bruce winning the game for us. My Carlton supporting neighbour still hasn't got over the defeat.
  20. In 2000 Melbourne lose to Carlton at the G by 96 points mid season. We play Carlton again that year in Preliminary final and beat them to make the Grand Final. Don't these memories bring some form of hope?
  21. It didnt work to ignore Bugg when he kicked four against North.
  22. You just love sticking the knives in don't you Petra? Sad to have so much hatred for one individual. Really sad. He's gone, you got your way but still the spite.
  23. Garlett Oliver Away jumpers so much better than the white things of the past. Lever so far, big disappointment.
