  1. Jake Spencer has made his way back into the side at the expense of Cale Morton. I don't know what ails Morton but I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he's back in the side by round 1 of 2010!
  2. I'm surprised that Brock McLean is not on that list. Quite frankly, he looked very proppy late in the Port Adelaide game and he really struggled against Geelong. Give him a break please Dean Bailey! Jack Watts also shown on Ten tonight nursing a finger injury!
  3. Highlights of the injuries at other clubs: West Coast - Winged Eagles Cox and Kerr could miss rest of season The lesson to this is that if you want a priority pick then employ incompetent medical staff    Our opponents this week, Geelong: Gary Ablett one of six Geelong reinforcements
  4. Still TBC on the afl site but the media, as usual, are ahead of the game: Daniel Bell (shoulder) season Sam Blease (leg) season Simon Buckley (groin) test Colin Garland (foot) season Rhys Healey (quad) 2 weeks Tom McNamara (hip) test Addam Maric (shoulder) season John Meesen (knee) season Jake Spencer (ankle) test James Strauss (shoulder) season Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) 3-4 weeks Belly joins the walking wounded out for the season. Maric's now officially on that list, Aussie's progress is painfully slow and there are a few who look like restarting their seasons this week in the Casey twos if they can pass their tests.
  5. According to afl.com.au - "TBC" The most accurate injury list so far!
  6. Team: B Panozza Silvagni Taylor HB Whelan Faulks Wall C Matthews Valenti Chivers HF Hughes Watts Newton F McGough Miller Stockdale Foll Johnson Bartram Creed IC Bail Cheney McKenzie Mohr Ryan Jamie Bennell is obviously emergency for tomorrow. Ryan is the TAC 23rd man.
  7. This is supposed to be the official injury list. However, it doesn't include Addam maric who is said to have undergone a shoulder reconstruction. We breed them tough if Maric plays this week. Also not included is Jack Watts, presumably over his migraine and ready to resume somewhere this week. It's getting close to the point where Aussie might as well pack it in for the season. He's not due back until Round 18 at the earliest and would need a couple of games at Casey at the very least to establish some fitness. Injured: Sam Blease (leg) – indefinite Simon Buckley (groin) – 1-2 weeks Colin Garland (foot) – indefinite Rhys Healey (quad) – 2 weeks Tom McNamara (hip) – 1-2 weeks John Meesen (knee) – indefinite Jake Spencer (ankle) – 1-2 weeks James Strauss (shoulder) – indefinite Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) – 3-4 weeks Suspended: Colin Sylvia – 3 weeks
  8. WC with no Cox, no Kerr, an immature ruck and midfield and playing away from home. It's a no brainer. Melbourne to win at last (and by at least 5 goals)!
  9. Hughes and Maric both missing as well. Presumably Maric still has a problem with his shoulder which he injured at Williamstown.
  10. Every week they publish an injury list and every week there's a player or two not on the list who misses the following game. This week it's Watts, Hughes, Maric and Strauss. Why have an injuy list at all?
  11. The injury update sees a couple of additions with Jake Spencer rolling an ankle 30 seconds into the Casey reserves game last Saturday and a couple of players going backwards: Sam Blease (leg) – indefinite Simon Buckley (groin) – 3-5 weeks Colin Garland (foot) – indefinite Rhys Healey (quad) – 4 weeks Tom McNamara (hip) – 3 weeks John Meesen (foot) – indefinite Jake Spencer (ankle) – 2 weeks Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) – 3-5 weeks
  12. The MFC injury list is fairly stable coming into this week's bye: Sam Blease (leg) indefinite Simon Buckley (groin) 5 weeks Colin Garland (foot) indefinite Rhys Healey (quad) test John Meesen (foot) indefinite Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) 4 weeks
  13. Casey Scorpions coach Peter German certainly was impressed: CASEY SCORPIONS REPORT
  14. Scully will be featured today on Hutchy's TAC Cup Future Stars at 1pm on Nine.
  15. Colin Wisbey Pyeman on the Black & White Extreme Bulletin Board suggested these as the top five draft picks if the draft were held now (bearing in mind that it's a long way out):- 1 Melbourne - Tom Scully 2 Melbourne - John Butcher 3 Richmond - Kobi Stevens 4 Fremantle - Kane Lucas or Anthony Morabito 5 West Coast - Anthony Morabito or Kane Lucas
  16. Sam Blease (leg) indefinite Simon Buckley (groin) 4-6 weeks Colin Garland (foot) indefinite Rhys Healey (quad) 1 week James McDonald (knee) test John Meesen (foot) indefinite Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) 3-5 weeks As usual, we have a player who was injured at the weekend but not accounted for on the official injury list. Jake Spencer was injured in the first five minutes at Casey and the injury could be anything because I've read about three different diagnoses. Simon Buckley is our current 426 man.
  17. Turns out he's training here with Collingwood. Too much for us to expect us to take such an initiative.
  18. From DemonDeb from another thread:- The Queensland Demons invite all to a post match drink at Emerald Lakes Golf Club. This is almost directly across Broadbeach-Nerang Road and will be open till midnight. We have spoken to the manager and we are all welcome to roll over and celebrate our game.
  19. Congratulations to the FD for having the courage to take strong action with Robbo. Geelong and Hawthorn proved last year that you win games by playing for your team. Robbo's act was the epitome of selfish play and he deserves a rest. Ricky Petterd was a different kettle of fish. He's been quiet lately and a trip to Casey isn't going to hurt him.
  20. The problem is not Deegirl but whoever is giving her the information. Not much damage giving out the team an hour or so early but next time it could be something more important that's leaked and it could be to our detriment.
  21. I think the list is down to its lowest level in 3 years. Sam Blease (leg) indefinite Colin Garland (foot) indefinite Rhys Healey (quad) 1 - 2 weeks John Meesen (foot) indefinite Austin Wonaesmirri (knee) 4 - 6 weeks There's always a 426 isn't there?
  22. A couple of weeks ago Fevola was interviewed on TV (On the Couch?) and he said that he had a few mates at St. Kilda and that he played late night poker games with them. Today, there's an article about a "high-profile player with gambling problems" who David Schwarz has urged to seek help - David Schwarz urges star to act on gambling. "Who it is . . . I can narrow it down," Schwarz said after the Herald Sun's revelations about the extent of gambling in footy. "But it's not about naming and shaming." Well I'm not naming and I'm not shaming but there's one player who is on record to admitting that he plays these poker games and his form has been down on recent weeks. That, of course, doesn't necessarily mean that he has a gambling problem. In addition, I'm specifically not naming because, quite frankly, if it is Fevola (and I'm not saying that it is) and he's too arrogant to seek help, then good luck to him and the club that he plays with and good luck to Ratten and Judd in their quest to improve the culture at Carlton. As for us trying to get him ... pffft!
  23. The article didn't say that Watts was the most influential player in the game; rather that he displayed excellent skills. Newton does from time to time run, chase and tackle hard. Other times and especially when he goes up to the AFL, he disappoints in the same area. That's why he's playing at Casey and not in the AFL. On another note, I noticed there were a few absentees from the Casey team whose absence might have made a difference between winning and losing - Clint Bartram, Simon Buckley and Jordie McKenzie who has been playing well for the Scorpions. I assume Bartram was emergency for the twilight game but does anyone know why the other two didn't play?
