  1. Frost has hit more targets than anyone else. Perfect illustration of how we’re playing.
  2. We just keep fumbling. Over and over.
  3. We are losing it on the inside and they consistently have more numbers on the outside. We are making them look much, much better than they are.
  4. Viney is moving well at least.
  5. His work in tight is just absurdly good.
  6. Prerequisite for growing dreads.
  7. Unless he’s carrying a mystery injury, I’m confident of Max responding strongly which means if he’s giving our mids first use we are a decent chance.
  8. Granted Hawthorn were ridiculously good at keepings off. Eagles were still strong in the contest and the numbers were fairly even in the GF. Even though it’s Round 2 I think you’re right in that early signs are showing the teams with a greater ability to retain possession will fare better this season. One thing we have in our favour is an innovative coaching team.
  9. I’m actually pretty excited to see KK in the red and blue.
  10. Footy cycles are a fascinating thing. If what you’re saying is true then we’ve done a full loop. It was only five years ago that Richmond were playing the slow, uncontested style of football that got them to finals but no further. I think the key is what holds up in the home and away season may not necessarily hold up in September.
  11. Star. It’s just a matter of time until he’s unequivocally the best player in the league.
  12. Thanks for the insight Steve. Will be a devastating blow if this has a similar career impact to Trenners’ injury. I hope in the name of all that’s holy that they manage him correctly. On the surface it looks a terrible decision to let him play on the weekend. Everyone involved in that decision is accountable. If he continues to put in similar performances then it’s delaying the inevitable.
  13. I’m not arguing against it being a trend. The signs of NQR were there during the JLT and they have carried through to the season proper. For whatever reason, the players are not well conditioned. Shorter pre season. Off season surgeries. There may be a other factors but physically we looked a step behind the opponent from quarter time onwards. Which meant we couldn’t chase. Which also meant we couldn’t spread. Which affects the quickness of transition out of defence. Fitness and conditioning or lack thereof has a wide ranging flow on effect. Essentially I think we’re looking at a few weeks before we are up and firing. If we can pinch a few games in the process then that’s a bonus.
  14. 6. Salem 5. Watts, oh wait.. 5. Harmes 4. Melksham 3. Hunt Pick a number out of a barrel from here. 2. Fritsch 1. Sparrow
  15. At least this Adelaide performance is making me feel a little better. Fair to say it’s a good day to be a Port fan.
  16. Not being able to score will prove a challenge. Scoring often contributes to winning the game.
  17. Looking like a horrible misjudgement letting Viney play. Hopefully some vindication in the second half.
  18. Just his usual crap. “The working class boys are dishing it up to the silvertails!”
  19. Why is Viney playing if he can’t get around the ground? 3 touches and 1 tackle.
  20. Fritzel takes a screamer. Eddie calls it like he’s commentating a funeral.
  21. Only real negative you can say is that we should be further in front. Not sure how that wasn’t an additional 50 to Jones under the stupid new rule. Watts made no effort to get out of his way. Under the new rule he’s meant to clear the zone.
