Entire footy world will be expecting North to win this. “No Max No Melbourne”. I’m trying to find upsides and the main one I can see is Viney being out should mean Brayshaw on ball for majority of the game.

Pretty disingenuous to reduce it to “he couldn’t get a game”. At North he was behind Goldstein and at Melbourne he’s behind Gawn. Two of the top handful of rucks in the game. Hence why he should go to a club where he’ll get better opportunity. He’s had some very decent games, aggression aside which in and of itself is an underrated asset, ala Vanders, Mumford etc. In terms of craft he comprehensively beat Kreuzer (44 hit outs to 24) who is an elite ruck. Another club will and should grab him with both hands. He’s wasted here.

Preussy must be feeling like a right plonker for coming to Melbourne. Needs to seek a trade ASAP. He should be playing at the top level.

Well this is two more wins we should be pencilling in. Good lord. Dreadful the pair of them.

Lloyd and Cornes are top of the tree when it comes to voices in the footy media I completely tune out. Karl Langdon completes the trifecta but fortunately we get to avoid most of his nonsense over in the west.

I think he’s playing his role really strongly. Enough to be worth more votes than some of the names above him. Not sure what Gus has done this year to earn 12 votes, for example.

Top 5 looks right. Jacko and Weid deserve more love.

Butler is an interesting one. Can’t seem to kick a set shot to save himself, but in general play he is looking as dangerous as any small forward in the league right now.

She was/is cute as a button. Always remained upbeat no matter how dire the circumstances we found ourselves in.

6. Oliver 5. May 4. Viney 3. Petracca 2. Jackson 1. Lever

Three quarters of puss and a last quarter of sexy time. Certainly wasn’t a great team effort but some great individual games. Oliver incredible. Viney all heart. May was solid all game and just as importantly gives us grunt. Brayshaw finally showing a few signs that he can get back something resembling form. Jackson yet again played a smart game down forward. Those having a crack at him aren’t paying attention. Competing strongly in the air and playing a selfless game for the other forwards. The skills are still a huge issue, but by the end of the game it was a 50 point win. It took a massive detour but it was job done.

Oliver 202 ranking points. King: “Derm, do you think he can take his game to the next level?” Pretty sure he’s at the next level.

The last quarter especially has been the Brayshaw of old.

I’m just gonna say it. I love Steven May. So glad he plays for us.
