NON MFC: Round 08
āYou just feel like Tom Dyson is close to cracking donāt you? Heās right on the edge of breaking out the straight jacket but never quite reaches the padded cell. Heās a tease isnāt he?ā

Love the straight swap. No more required. Another good week at the selection table.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
So um...how bloody exciting is this kid? Talk about strings to his bow. Just the way someone of his size can glide around the ground, coupled with his skills. Itās going to be a treat watching him develop. He also didnāt seem to show any signs of fatigue after 86% game time. The recruiters have nailed this one. He is something special

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I especially love the thought of Dermott Brereton having to sit and watch every minute of that. After his endless condescending attitude towards everything Melbourne. And after a week where he suggested Hawthorn could be like Richmond of 2015 who bounced back to win two flags. And Clarkson will coach for the next two decades. Time to turn down the heat on the hair straightener, Dermie. Your team is garbage. And how glorious it is.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Positives everywhere, especially in the middle of the ground where we were dominant. But for the first time in a long time, we look dangerous in the forward 50. Owed in no small part to Weideman flying at everything and bringing the ball to ground with Pickett looking dangerous whenever he gets within 10 metres of the drop of the ball. Jackson is going to be a ten year plus player. And a bloke called Harley Bennell is looking like a god send. Many on here have been calling out forever to fix up the forwardline. On todayās evidence we have taken big strides towards doing just that. Reward for effort. Of which there was bucketloads. Weāre back baby.

Looks like games in the NT remain a possibility. Hopefully they can fly one of the Adelaide teams over. It just wonāt feel like a Darwin home game without everyone cheering for the opposition.

McCartin - should we consider recruiting him ??
Fair to say Saints fans would not be enjoying seeing Trac tearing it up.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I think some people see the silly 50s he gives away, or the times he gets caught in two minds, and reach for the eject button. But youāre right. His influence at the moment is still in the positive. In our top 5 players yesterday for tackles, clearances, and 11 of his 14 possessions were contested. Also in the top 5. Heās not at his best but he stays in for mine.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Iād be looking at Brayshaw before Melksham. Heās slow. Heās extremely fumbly. Heās just not playing good footy and the credits in the bank are starting to run dry. Thereās no way Jones wouldnāt offer more than Gus is right now.

TEAMS: Rd 06 vs Gold Coast
Honestly, itās a decent looking team. On paper. i suppose thatās the key difference between today and the dark days, I look at that team and wonder why we arenāt playing better. As opposed to looking at the team and knowing exactly why we arenāt playing better.

Two Metre Peter
Heās fallen off a cliff performance wise. There was a stage where he looked like he could be the next big thing (no pun) but that seems like a long time ago. Injuries havenāt helped his development.

Dees to win flag

Hope Lions thump these pretenders. They almost lost to us ffs.

TEAMS: Rd 06 vs Gold Coast
They obviously have a lot of faith in Vanders. Has done zero to warrant keeping his spot. Needs to reward the faith. Decent changes but I wouldāve liked to see Jones and Brown as well. Brown has smarts forward of centre and Jones can kick - two things we badly lack. Thank god they are finally playing Weid. Heās far from the saviour but we need to see if heās up to it or not. Heās had long enough in the system. Time to find out for better or worse. If itās worse we accept itās another MFC draft blunder and move on. His inclusion also provides a bit more flexibility to play T Mac further up the ground which, if they insist on playing him, is where he should be utilised.
