  1. Decrepit? What nonsense. Still playing excellent footy. Their outs are extensive - Macrae, Dalhaus, Wallis etc. They are severely understrength.
  2. Very harsh call. The ball use has been solid overall.
  3. Been pleasantly surprised by the quality of disposal given the conditions, although under a lot less pressure than will be the standard. Garlett, Salem and Prince all very good and the backline looks assured Need to make a statement on the scoreboard this quarter
  4. I think the Libba injury has caused major jitters. They simply can't afford another injury to a key player. They couldn't afford it BEFORE Libba went down. They will cop a pounding if it means some run in the legs of their youngsters and no serious injuries.
  5. Start time as scheduled, sorry mate. But Roosy said to say hi.
  6. I liked his post match just as much. Clearly sets high standards for himself. He certainly looks the part. Good size and moves well.
  7. I'm on the phone to them now. I'll keep you posted.
  8. Let's not skirt around this. If treating it as a Rd 1 game and looking to win, with the side the Dogs are putting out, we should belt them.
  9. chops, welcome. Re your post, you are missing the point somewhat. I think a majority aren't trying to downplay depression as a condition. Many posters here have outed themselves as suffering from mental health issues so there is sympathy in that regard. Where there isn't sympathy is for the way in which Clark has conducted himself. How he has used up the club's resources in his physical and mental recovery up until the last minute when he turned his back on it to go and play for a top four club whilst refusing to speak to those who have supported him through the whole thing - the fans. Don't forget that this isn't an isolated incident. When leaving Brisbane it was on the grounds to go home to Perth to be with his family. A last minute sack of money and he was on his way to Melbourne. This is someone who, externally, seems to be of questionable honour. That is distinct from any mental health issue.
  10. I hope you're correct. My reservation comes down to how much fate has screwed us over in the past. Prince will be a good get and it lessens the blow, that much I will agree with.
  11. I envy you. I just felt sick watching it. I also noticed that he turned down an interview after, the game. Not up to speaking to the public. Except to Geelong supporters. Then he's all laughter and handshakes.
  12. Laughable. Or sickening. Can't decide which. And Collngwood (not that anyone cares). They were reportedly absolutely confident he would be joining them before yet another 11th hour backflip.
  13. You're in good company here I think.
  14. Whose really going to challenge him for it? Tyson perhaps? Lumumba maybe? Anyone else would have to be significantly better than they were last year in order to top Jones. It's possible to make some significant improvement as a team and still have Jones as our best player in 2015.
  15. My belief is that media and marketing, whilst down the pecking order at the moment, may receive a greater focus once the club has something to sell other than hope. Yes, the club seems headed in the right direction, but the less invested supporter is now waiting to see evidence of it on the field. So currently, FD spending is consuming budget from other areas. Once the results come, the club will have something more tangible to sell. I'm not saying this approach is right or wrong, just my own theory as to their thinking. If it remains the amateur approach we have now once the club starts winning with regularity, I'll be more concerned.
  16. Granted, but the player ranked 2nd for disposals and 3rd for clearances has a fair claim to being one of the top 20 midfielders. Brandon Ellis made the squad ffs. Jonesy was very stiff.
  17. Perhaps he might now crack the AA squad Still mystified as to how he was deemed by selectors to not be in the top 40 players last season. KB, you are a peanut.
  18. I can absolutely understand the annoyance it has caused. Especially for those who take time out to bring the kids along and are left twiddling their thumbs for an hour and a half. This is on top of the ridiculous decision to not have one single membership or merch stand at the intra club. I emailed the club regarding that decision and received no response. First time that has happened. It plainly isn't good enough, and it's something that is very easily fixed. The new direction of the club can't include this sort of shoddy organisation. If it isn't sorted then talk of 40K members is nothing but a pipe dream.
  19. There's little point in writing the obituaries for best 22 players we currently have , all in anticipation of future "superstars" who are yet to play a game at Casey, let alone the senior side. I know patience is in short supply, but need to dig into the reserves and let things pan out naturally.
  20. Injury interruptions granted, but I think the validity of the second excuse is quickly fading away. Toumpas has the likes of Jones, Cross and Vince as experienced heads, the work ethic of younger players in Viney and Tyson to demonstrate the standard required, and one of the best coaching panels in the league. He has every support to become the best player he can be. No more club environment related excuses should be entertained. For the record, I'm a long way from putting a line through Toumpas. He needs a decent run at it to make any kind of fair assessment.
  21. Watto MUST bat down the order at 5/6. He benefits which means the team benefits. Clarke looked very relaxed with some stroke play to remind everyone he's still one of the best going around. Starc is bowling Ike a man possessed. The tournament deserves an Aus v NZ final. The atmosphere will be off the scale.
  22. Agreed. Emphasis on "may be" cause if there is one thing we've learned it is not to count our chickens before hatching, but Newton and Vanders look like they could be very astute pick ups.
  23. Michie is an interesting one. Hardly rated a mention in the post match, but ended up with the most tackles and 4th most possessions. Seems a meat and potatoes type. Lacks penetration with his kicking but Sam Mitchell has the same issue and has carved out a decent career. Newts looks very capable of being our Anthony Miles this season. Really exciting signs against Freo. At this stage there surely wouldn't be too many complaints seeing both named for Round 1.
