  1. That is very generous of you. I threw a hundred in as a country supporter. Good to read what everyone gets up too, and i am aslo a member but its a bit to far to drive up to watch the games so its more like a donation. Bad times are what make the good times so good hey....
  2. So who was the coach who never played at afl/vfl level? It was either Neil Craig or Ross Lyon i'm assuming...
  3. No way. We have been through tough times now and just starting to turn the corner. Stick with youth and keep trying some untapped players via national draft. He's too old...
  4. I think Neale Daniher left MFC in a real mess... He was more than happy to pull the plug when people started calling for his head as he knew all to well the team was on a downward spiral and it was going to take a number of years, as it already has, for MFC to be successful again. Dean Bailey has massive job and he has culled a lot. keeping Newton and Meeson this yr was a backward step though, probably more a financial decision than anything. I am happy to give him the extra yr, but there would want to be some improvemtne by then...
  5. Ok then, so pretty much writing a letter such as i did is a waste of time. I suppose it just felt good to vent some frustration. I didnt think they would receive so many letters as everyone seems to think. I will be interested to see if i get any response, i'm highly doubting it from what everyone has said here.
  6. I dont know if it was the wrong thing to do, but i have done it now. I sent a letter of disappointment to MFC because i wanted them to know that what took place on the weekend was just not up to scratch. In laymans terms, i wanted them to know that it just wasnt good enough. Please feel free to read my letter below and comment, i wont take offence. Also, is writing a letter like this good to show your passionate, or should we just let them get on with it without outside input such as mine??? Dear Jim/Dean, I work a full time job, I get paid and I do my work. Whilst I admit Football is a slightly different kettle of fish, and you never know what might happen, the one thing I expect from the team I love and support is genuine passion, commitment and some seriously dogged determination. I honestly have no problem with losing games of football, I just want to see blokes who are prepared to have a crack. Good news is that there are 21 weeks to go, and I hope the guys see this as a positive too, cause otherwise we might as well pack up right now. Finally, the main reason I am writing this letter is because I want you to know that people like me care a lot about what is going on with our club. I want you to be upset that I had to write this letter, because to be honest, this is not the kind of thing I do lightly, in fact I think it’s the first time I have ever done something like this, such is the way I felt from what took place on the weekend. My advice, get straight back on the horse and give it a decent crack… Kind Regards Paul Pitman MFC member
  7. Fair enough on the Warnock point. And i'm not that keen on changing our backline too much either, the problem probably lies further up field. With regards to the our forward line though, i refer to a famous saying. Why change something thats not broken? So the complete opposite of that tells me that our Forward line is broken, so lets change it!!! At least if we put smaller blokes in, we could lock it in for more longer.
  8. My whole point was to give Brad Miller some confidence back. He is a strong bodied tough bloke, and i just look at someone like Prestigiacomo (god knows if i spelt that right) from Collingwood, and i think that Miller could do a similar job. he would also have more pace than Warnock. Of course this still doesnt solve our Forward line problems, which is obviously the only reason Miller is still getting a game. Dont bother tagging Swan, he goes in and gets the hardball every week, might as well tag someone like Pendlebury. I dont even like thinking about whats going to happen to my beloved Dees this wk...
  9. I think the last possible chance Brad Miller has for an AFL career is to swing him down back, and just let him run straight at the ball for a while. Allah Chris Tarrant. I'm not totally convinced that this will work, but i am convinced he does not deserve to be up forward. I love the guy to death, and his missus even more, but he is employed to do a job and he just cant quite cut the mustard... There is no way he would have got a game if Jurrah and Watts had got through pre-season. Makes me wonder now why we didnt draft another key position player. Time will tell. Maybe Garland is the missing piece, and Jamar could spend more time up forward? Anyone got any better ideas?
  10. Wow thats a cool way to look at it, there is definately a bit of potential brewing there. I just want to see us having a decent crack each week this year, and somehow not get so many injuries. I still cant believe how many blokes we have on the sidelines again. If we had sylvia, jurrah, morton in tomorrow, i would have no doubt that we would beat the undermanned hawks, and i have still tipped the Dees anyway... Forward line is the obvious question mark.
  11. Cheers for that. And just so you know, my team name is GREENPEACE... My old man might be keen if you want another team in. He's a keen MFC supporter... Responsible for brainwashing me i suppose......
  12. What i want to know is, in his first year he was injury free and on fire. He came without doing the full MFC pre-season and he was fine. Then he undergoes our rigorous pre-season, and is primed for a massive yr but all he ends up with is injury after injury. Sometimes i think the staff at MFC are pushing some guys too hard or something anyway, cause shouldnt he have had all these injuries in his first yr when he came in without the so-called necessary massive pre-season behind him... I am frustrated if you cant tell... He is a gun... Talk of getting rid of him is ridiculous too.......................
  13. Im in... Hope you don't mind. Im a country Dees member, and i love my supercoach... I have to warn you though, i pick with my head, not my heart......
  14. Im with R&B&T, Jurrah has a phenominal amount of potential, and the sooner i hear he is signed on until past the danger period, i will be worried about losing him. Although Daz Dees commment does reassure me a fair bit. Jurrah is a freak.......
  15. I think you will find that Jurrah only played 9 games last yr..... and kicked 20 goals....
  16. Cmon Ernest, i am just hanging to hear your training report... lol Wouldnt it be awesome if a club helper or something could give us an update occasionally. I dont think they put out enough info on the club website....
  17. Nothing like a fresh start... I have not long signed on to Demonland, and it has been really good as a country member to get some good goss and some training/ individuals updates. I will certainly look to make a donation in the future to keep the site up and running. Good work all round....
  18. Does anyone think that Melbourne has a problem keeping or attracting some of these players? I still dont quite understand why McClean left, after he seemed so passionate about the club. Perhaps our improved facilities might help us a fair bit?
  19. Thanks Whispering Jack, reports like yours are like media gold for someone like myself, living in the country and unable to attend training etc. Really appreciate the update. Sensational work.....
  20. It can be a fine line between pushing the young fella's, Scully and Trengove, with articles like this in the paper, and not heaping too much pressure on them. But Greeny obviously thinks there ready for the big time. I wonder if the club endorses him to make such comments?
  21. To the Oracle! While i like your prediction of Melbourne finishing 8th, i still think your one season to early on that. Mind you, i hope i'm wrong... We still have a lot of youngsters who need experience and then i think we will be a serious contender. I personally just want to see a bit more exciting footy, and i will love it if were a bit up and down, cause you never know what your gunna get from one week to the next.
