  1. Perhaps you could take a leaf out of HH's book, and add to that: I will never post on Demonland again.
  2. 30 what? He's 26, will be 27 in January.
  3. There are no certainties with draft picks. The difference between ND pick 40 and RD pick 2 is minimal, and the chances of that pick becoming A Player is equally low in both cases.
  4. Says the man who has posted 6+ times in this thread.
  5. Keeping on a couple of fringe/depth players as against taking speculative picks in the 3rd and 4th rounds of a weak draft is NOT the reason why the club is where it is.
  6. Egg on face. As above, add Georgiou, which makes 9. Not sure how I got to 11. That's 7 gone from the main list, plus 2 rookies (Georgiou, Clisby), with which the outs, the ins, the Jetta upgrade leaves us 3 picks in the main draft, plus 2 rookie picks. Talk around that we'll get/take Ben Newton (Port), which would leave us only 2 live picks in the ND. If that was the case, not sure why we were fussed getting 40 and 53 in the trade for Frost. Maybe there's something brewing with Evans, contract or not. DEPARTURES Retired: Shannon Byrnes Unrestricted free agent: Mitch Clark (Geelong Cats), James Frawley (Hawthorn) Delisted: Sam Blease, Mitch Clisby, Alex Georgiou (rookie), Daniel Nicholson, James Strauss, Luke Tapscott
  7. By my calculations, we've moved on/lost 11 players this year. There's only so much you can do in a single season.
  8. Now there's a blast from the past, excellent. I'm somewhat more partial to Shady Grove, with the irreplaceable, idiosyncratic Nicky Hopkins on piano - as a young wannabe keyboard player at the time, was stunned when I first heard that. The boys were on track on that one (cough cough).
  9. Anyone able to tie any of this back into the original thread ...??
  10. What I meant. As a sixties' band, Cream were around too early to be considered for events that happened in the 70's.
  11. Cream: Too early. We're talking (early) 70's. (Jack Bruce, RIP).
  12. Well, perhaps put it this way. No (entire) cycling team has been banned or suspended by/through WADA or their associated bodies, nor have WADA appealed any non-suspension of cycling teams following multiple infringements. In reality - and I stand to be corrected - I don't know that WADA have ever been involved in the suspension of any team in any sport. There were more than 2 players suspended at Cronulla, but there's no ban.
  13. Perhaps. I also think there's more to "he was told to be a hard arse" than is being acknowledged. I remember an interview with Jimmy where he was saying he wanted Neeld to "toughen them up", and there were similar remarks from Lyon. There may not have been specific instructions, but I think the message was pretty clear - and not just from within the club. Everyone thought that we were soft. In response, and for whatever reason - misjudgement, inexperience, incompetence - Neeld got it wrong. But on the evidence of his previous track record, he also knows how to get it right - albeit in a different role/context.
  14. None. He wasn't responsible for player development at Melbourne. That would be the trio of Development coaches, Greaves, Satterly and Nichol, while Neil Craig who was Head of Coaching, should have been overseeing progress and addressed any shortcomings.
  15. No. The discussion is about Neeld joining Essendon as one of their assistant coaches (development), not about Neeld's capacity as head coach. Which none of your points address - he will have no say on list managent at Essendon, for example.
  16. christian petracca @cpetracca7 · 1h1 hour ago When will people realise, Mark Neeld is a great person, one of the best mentors/teachers of footy that I know of. everyone makes mistakes!! christian petracca @cpetracca7 · 1h1 hour ago couldn't be happier for him
