On a positive note: Can't blame a guy who is getting towards the end of his career while at a Club that's bottoming out - everyone wants to win a premiership. For his sake and ours, let's hope he can do a Crawf.

On the flip side, it can mean we have a poor list of ordinary senior players that no one wants (and we're not willing to trade away our youngsters). It's not like we were the only Club to fail to find a suitable deal - North were shopping around a few players and didn't get any takers.

Perhaps he thinks Carlton is a stable company that has a good culture, friendly employees, and is offering a good salary package. Since he's reportedly refused to be traded to Melbourne, we could guess that he might feel the MFC is an unstable entity with poor renumeration, and perhaps other negatives too. In any other field, I'm not sure anyone would be called 'scum' for choosing the former.

From what I remember of the previous discussions, we split to be masters of our own destiny -- previously, we had to get MCC approval for expenditure etc. This issue has been discussed a fair bit on here and Demonology. You clearly don't see the irony in suggesting - albeit jokingly - that the next person to suggest Davey be traded should be banned, asserting that Davey is untouchable, and then admitting you would trade him.

Regarding an A-League team at Casey Fields, I don't see that it would negatively impact on us. I'm pretty sure there were plans to have a soccer 'Centre of Excellence' at Casey Fields anyway (I think it's referred to in passing in one of the articles). Fwiw:
