    Game 200!

To make it to 200 games is a great achievement. Like many I've been frustrated by Bruce's disposal in recent years and it's probably clouded my thoughts of him. In fact, I did - somewhat naively - suggest to some colleagues in 2003 that he would win a brownlow. PS. Doggo makes a good point regarding expectation. I think it's a similar story with many of the guys who cop the most flak on here (ie. Miller).
  2. Haha :D
  3. You said this: Unless you deem a player considered for delisting if he's on a list of players that are uncontracted I can't see how Wona will be 'considered for delisting'. We're not going to be ditching him. That might be a little unfair - I'll leave it to you to decide for who it is unfair - but nice call
  4. Unsurprising change following a win.
  5. Is it damaging when struggling local sides do it towards the end of every season, bringing in the kids and trying out new things? I don't see how it's inherently bad just because we'll get a PP - we'd likely give guys gift games to 'give them a taste', try players in different roles etc, anyway. If we're going to be any good Jetta will be nowhere near our top six.
  6. Match report 'best players' lists I've seen from the past couple of weeks suggest otherwise - those guys have been good but others have been better. We don't need to drop our youngsters to 'list manage'. Were the players up in arms when Grimes was gifted a round 22 game last season? How about when we sent PJ off for surgery with a couple (?) of rounds to go?
  7. Try PM'ing Nasher. PS. If there's the ability to have avatars that are hosted off-site you might want to do that (ie. upload the avatar to photobucket / imageshack etc). EDIT: Seems it's fixed now
  8. Exactly. Most interviews aren't worth listening to for this very reason.
  9. It'd likely be less than four wins after 15 rounds - more like 2 or 3. Thus making finals would be very unlikely (impossible?).
  10. Just fwiw, this isn't an original idea from Dwayne Russell - it's been mooted in previous years.
  11. Exactly. The gist of that post was as follows: 1. I was told we're not tanking. 2. We are going to tank.
  12. lol I don't think RR's ever been a great fan of the Tiwi Turtle.
  13. Exactly. I move that any posts that suggest/debate this point should be removed, thereby cutting tanking-related discussion by around 20% Furthermore I'm desperate for the 'winning culture' side to explain how a fifth win against a terrible side who is managing their own list would create a 'winning culture' that would aid us in the future. Any decent response needs to reference Melbourne's Round 22 win over Carlton in 2007 and Ninthmond's succession of ninth finishes (plus their great run home in 2008).
  14. That's the whole point - five wins is quite possible.
  15. A win over Geelong wouldn't change my mind.
  16. Apparently it helped us develop a winning culture. For those who suggest that for this reason we should win as many as we can this year, I'd like to know what happened in 2008.
  17. A shame we've only got the one. Hopefully we can turn one into two.
  18. Ticketmaster sells SS tickets. Reserved seats are now extremely limited - I'm not sure you can get two together (I know there were no sets of three available this afternoon). There's general admission but from what I gather there's limited seating and if you miss out you'll be standing for the game, which might be tough for a child.
  19. I agree.
  20. The media's already asked questions along the lines of PP etc. I don't think we'll know from anything the Club says - they're not going to telegraph it. All fair enough. McKenzie's been playing quite well for a while now, Bartram was 'BOG' and both Miller and Newton kicked four sausages. Buckley might get another crack at it and if Bell's injury isn't too bad he's another you can add to that list. As an aside, I'd like to see Wheels get another four games.
  21. Watts is destined to play a different role IMO. Why would he be compared to Brown over one of many forwards? I think a comparison with someone like Reiwoldt is far more likely.
