Bailey would be one of the most sought-after assistant coaches if he was available. Indisputable. But even if he couldn't get another coaching job, Bailey would not stay on. Senior Coaches DO NOT get demoted and stay on at the club. It would be embarrassing and degrading. Very very rarely do interim coaches stay on in some capacity if they don't get the head job (Crocker is the only one I can think of), but never a Senior Coach.

Paul Roos won't do it. If you know anything about the man himself, you'll know that.

I'm really really impressed that the club have recognized the unique situation the club is in and promoting it; that is, a club at the very bottom in every aspect, building towards a strong and successful future. The information they are giving out isn't a trade secret, but few supporters are aware of a lot of these aspects. Eventually, these videos will bring a lot of positive attention to the club and it is also a good way of explaining to angry supporters just what the club needs to go through. 5 year plans often don't work because by the nature of the game it takes longer than 5 years. Oh, and all the videos are up on youtube now :)

I'll tell you right now his body is stuffed and he won't be playing for much longer. I give him 2 years tops. Still a fantastic player though.

This has been the knock on him. Maybe Freo can hide his deficiencies, much as Carlton will be able to somewhat compensate for Brock's. You know what... it just struck me that Dean Bailey has never once mentioned wearing underwear... does that mean he is freeballing every time we play a game! - No wonder we keep losing!

What is the common thread with the players you have listed there..? No? They are all role-players. There is no star power. When you realize that, how can you possibly be surprised we lost like we did?? (also, that list of middle-tier players would be considerably shorter than most other teams - we are still feeling the effects of poor recruiting up to a decade ago.)

But should this be a surprise? Is this anything new? This tier of players is the very reason we have been rooted to the bottom of the ladder 3 years before half these kids even came onto our list. We are trying to rectify this, but a lot of these players remain and they can only be replaced with TIME.

Surely you must concede that a player with 30 games experience has an advantage over a kid with 2 games experience. Or a player with 120 games experience has an advantage over a player with 30 games experience. It's also a cumulative effect. People can dismiss the reasons we lost as overrated, but then what is your explanation? I'm looking for a solid reasoned response here, not merely "Bailey is crap" because that is meaningless.

Depends on whether you are trying to win one game now OR lose only 2 matches in a season, years from now.

I can't help it if I clearly know better than the easily influenced and blind-rage-feulled white-flag-wavers. My support will be unwavering as will my stance. If only all our supporters were as sharp.
