  1. Uh... maybe you misunderstand. Read the post again. I've not seen much of him, besides his games against MFC, which from memory were fairly average. Other than that I've only seen highlights and he looks very good, but I imagine that is because they are highlights and I could be overrating him. Not a difficult concept to grasp. It's all moot anyway, but I was trying to get a feel on other's opinions of these players.
  2. The forgotten man. Yeah, I'd like to see him get a crack at it soon. Sorry, I'd like to see him earn a crack a it soon.
  3. hahaha fair enough then! You gotta admit, you wouldn't be the first person to claim an unsubstantiated rumour as fact. Care to give us an example of when you've been right..?
  4. Yeah, haven't seen enough of Gray and I'm worried I've only seen his highlights. Nice banana from the boundary last week. Kicks better than either of the 2 names I threw up. I agree Boak would cost too much. We may struggle with trades because other teams want all our gun players! (fancy that...)
  5. Boak or Gray Two Questions: What do supporters think we'd have to be willing to part with to get one of these players? What would you be willing to part with for one of these players? Using the Brock McLean trade as a guide, Boak would have to be worth quite a bit more than pick 11. I think our first draft pick is likely to be later than that in 2010. I wouldn't part with any of: Grimes, Scully, Morton, Watts, Frawley, Garland, Jurrah, Trengove, Bate. Possibly a few others. By the end of the season that group may include McKenzie, Blease or Gysberts, but unlikely. Gray is a different kettle of fish. I think he might be worth a Nathan Jones or a Petterd, but not sure if I'd do the trade.
  6. As long as we select a Victorian.
  7. I always find it fascinating when posters use the "are we not allowed to have different opinions" argument in response to another poster having a different opinion. It's not as if the post was deleted. (Not necessarily aimed at you jayceebee, I've been guilty of saying the same thing. Just a general observation.)
  8. Haven't you heard? Gray is victorian and by the laws of physics is desperate to return to Melbourne. Not only that, but Port are interested in Tom MacNamara, Jamar, Rivers and Bell by virtue of them being South Australian. Maybe we should trade Miller for Jonathan Brown..?
  9. That's my take on it. A real man would wear pink for a cause he believed in and not give a $% what anyone had to say about it.
  10. People driving past seeing the stadium flashing red & blue might be worth something... Just an idea, but I admit a weak one.
  11. Isn't that the point - to make people sit up and take notice?? Using a different coloured footy is not even close to having the same visual impact, let alone something like a coloured armband or laces.
  12. Do you consider their pigheadedness over their club colours to be a defining factor for their financial success..? I think your desperation to use your field of expertise as an argument has clouded your common sense.
  13. Yeah, they are the only links I could find. Can;t wait for the stadium to be open - might even drag me to an A-League match! I've been through the site and up on top of the roof and when it is filled it will have an amazing atmosphere. The lighting system on the facade will be pretty special too - you'll be able to see the light show from miles away when the home team scores. I imagine it could be used for advertising purposes too. Something the MFC might want to look into.
  14. I'm just looking forward to the headlines if we win - TICKLED PINK
  15. I think it's a bit less dramatic than that - just one guy that has lost sight of what is really important. Focus on the people who get it & are making this happen. So proud of our club to go to this length.
  16. So what? Jokes may be made, but are you not man enough to ignore that crap in the name of getting behind a good cause? If anything, i think it shows your thin skin.
  17. On the contrary. I think it's the absolute opposite. It is a full commitment to supporting and increasing awareness of this cause, unlike some other token gestures like green laces. I'm proud my club is leading the way in showing a real passion for the community and finding ways to fight for issues that are bigger than footy. I'd hardly be embarrassed to see our boys in pink when it's such a worthy cause. If they were disgracing our jumper for a hollow cash-grab I might have an issue with it.
  18. Ignorance? An addiction to sel-flagellation? Could be a multitude of reasons...
  19. I feel sorry for you. Some things are bigger than football and worth getting behind.
  20. Just how I see things. Has anyone posted this age article yet? - http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/downonluck-dees-refuse-to-rush-watts-20100504-u76x.html I refuse to start another thread! Interesting that after 1 loss we are suddenly "Down-on-luck". I guess that refers to injuries.
