I to have no idea what to expect and maybe part of that is due to playing at a ground that neither of us have as a home ground. Feels like we are on mutual territory. I guess the thing that worries me today is obviously danger and selwood and hawkins has a habit of getting hold of us. Tommy needs a big game on him today. It will be interesting to see how our forward line does go today. But I do like the inclusion of Kent. Wonder if the cats will go with the same tactics last week like they did against nth where they basically didn't nominate a ruckman and just let the nth guy do it on his own. Anyway it would be awesome to get another win today

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 3
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I noticed there are $15 seats you can but if you enter a code on ticketmaster. I cannot remember where I saw the code. Anyone else know? -
Wow what a game. Sydney lost it in the 1st quarter when they got off to a slow start. I always felt like it was all set up for Buddy to kick the winning goal. Wow sydney 0-3.

Well I hope they are made to work extra hard on the track and when they watch in the stands they realise the impact they have left on the team by not being out there. As I have said Lewis doesn't bother me as much because we can cover him in as quality player like vince but Hogan up forward is going to be a massive loss. He has been marking it beautifully lately. anyway we move on now and I'm sure Goodwin and his assistants will come up with good replacement options.
-
Well if it was the other way around we'd be calling for players suspensions. It was dumb and Hogan did it out of frustration. he didn't need to do it. Lewis's problem was his record. We can cover Lewis but Hogan, it will be tougher. I guess the thing is he gets 2 weeks off and comes back fresh against Richmond, hopefully ready to go and fired up. It's to risky to appeal if both players get slapped with the extra week. but cant believe thompson only got a week and varcoe copped a fine. He ran past the ball to take the player out.
-
Well Vince has to come in. Still think we need a back up ruckman instead of sending Watts in there. But I'm not confident with Spencer. So next week 2 teams play at a ground that is neither there home ground.
-
I thought today Tommy Mac's kicking was pretty good and has improved over the off season. He did some nice long accurate passes today. Watts just needs to learn he can stretch the hands out to mark the ball, not always have to take it on the chest. But can I say Neville Jetta he was fantastic today. Just goes back into packs and uses the ball well. A credit to him and his hard work. Maybe our female team can teach the men's team on how to stick your tackles, we missed a few today. Also what a great crowd today. Loved the noise. Also on a side note does anyone else think out women's team deserved better in regards to there best and fairest? They had it at the game today in one of the rooms. I get that at 1/2 time they did a lap but surely they deserve there own night and time to have it.

Just got home from the game. Geez it was an ugly scrappy win. First half was ok then suddenly carlton flooded back and we didn't know what to do, then we started over thinking and doing to much.Lazy kicks, to many handpasses and missing set shots. Then it was CArlton who suddenly managed to find free space and open it up. Also some stupid undisciplined acts from our leaders. Also at one stage Max was off and Watts was to busy fighting Carlton players and couldn't get back into the ruck and Oliver had to do the centre square contest. We lost focus. Luckily we re grouped in that final quarter. It was great to see Jeffy put on defensive pressure. Hope he continues that. But we got the points and look at the ladder. It reads us 2-0. We would have taken that 3 weeks ago. Hopefully Hogan and Lewis are ok. At least we have handy replacements if Lewis goes. But we need Jesse. Great to see Salem play good footy we always hoped to see. also Oliver has had a great start. But next week we need to play so much better or else geelong will thrash us again.
-
So undisciplined. No forward line structure. Stopping running. Need to stop reading our hype

If the saints had Riewoldt they probably would have hung on. Fair effort to play like that without him. Unfortunately bad kicking catches up with you.
-
shame we didnt get the saints game on free to air instead of the other game.
-
Come on Lions!
-
Some of those gws players with the man buns don't look so great.
-
didnt realise that. Oh well we still better get a sponsor before them. Evans has his work cut out up there
-
the scum have carlton next week. That will be 3 from 3. So glad i'm not watching it. On the other hand go saints
-
So the suns can get a back of the jumper sponsor but we still can't? Come on surely someone loves us out there. Ablett on 16 possies. Very quiet night.
-
I remember a few years back people were saying the suns are well ahead of the giants. Now look at them. They are a shambles. Eade is going to set them way back. I wonder how much ablett really cares and how frustrated he is with his teammates. I really hope there is a miracle tonight and the lions win

I may be the only few that don't really have an issue with hawthorn and there success. Maybe because I admire Clarko and how he managed to knock the cats off in 2008 when no one game them a chance or maybe because he actually had the guts to come out and say what he thought of Hird and the essendon saga. Also he wasn't a superstar player like hird, buckley, voss or even tim watson. So he has proved you don't need to be a superstar to be a successful coach. Plus my friends who are hawks fans wernt arrogant when they wee successful unlike my bomber ones who after 2000 already said they would win the next 3. And I wish they knocked off the bummer last week. So now it's a different side and they have to get used to there team losing games. But I think 37,420 is a low crowd. Also it seems putting a different jumper on Vickory hasnt changed or helped him much.

$17,951.70 Raised of our $22,000 goal I hope people donate tomorrow. Surely people can donate a bit more than $11. Need to smash that 22k. Jim and Reach helped so many people and we need to keep on supporting his fine work.

Why on a Saturday night do we get Brisbane v Essendon. Yes I know it's a Brisbane home game and they deserve to be seen on free to air but I'd rather have seen todays game played tonight or Geelong and nth. Not going to bother watching except maybe in the last few minutes if Brisbane look like winning, which would be a miracle.

What was good was the dogs not wanting to waste time and kick the ball around and sideways. They just kept attacking and running forward. anyway next friday night sydney v pies. The two winless teams.
-
still hope the dogs win. But yes Boyd really has to do something. It has been mentioned on radio. But I hitnk the lesson is do not knock Cloke in the head. It has seemed to improve his kicking.
-
Imagine the fights he and Nathan got into when they were kids mucking around. Neither of them would have held back.

Loved being there yesterday. Etihad actually isnt that bad of a ground. Except it was absolutely stuffy and hot sitting up on level 3 with the roof closed. Have no idea what Goodwin said to them at 1/4 time but it was brilliant to watch after that. Loved Olivers game and his centre clearance work. Lewis is going to be great for us. a good ball user. Tommy Mac, still get nervous when he has the ball in his hands but a brilliant spoiler Nev so impressed with him yesterday Jeffy, he actually put forward pressure on. Hope he continues to do so. Max just killed it after 1/4 time Hogan just love him Anyway just rapt and the big thing now is to back up the win against the blues next week.
