Has anyone gone back to re read the game day thread after the bont put them 19 points up? Would be interesting to read the comments and people potting melbourne and probably giving up at that stage. Actually I just re read some, it's funny reading them now especially knowing the result. Even comments I wrote wow I did get frustrated with harmes. Poeple potting Goody saying he has no backup plan, Viney getting slammed as well as fritta.

I read yesterday Alan Richardson was driving around with the cup & if he saw a painted red & blue fence he'd pop in with the cup. I hope at some point they have popped into Neale's house

How do you think Dangerfield feels, he's achieved everything in footy except a flag & must look at bowey & sparrow & shake his head. It gives me a laugh that they are premiership players & danger isn't.

Do people find the more they watch it the more you just can't believe that we actually did it and won a premiership?

There was a game earlier in the year maybe against Carlton because I know it was a game I watched on tv because I couldn't get to the G and we were winning & BT is saying gosh even the Melbourne supporters are bored of winning, they are just sitting there & they don't make any noise then just kept going on and on about it. But I still never forget and I'm not sure from memory if it was on the Sunday Footy Show or on triple m but it was many many years ago when he gave lip to spud and saying oh you only could produce daughters, no father sons.

The more I watch the game the more I pick up on things that I seem to have missed. But what I did enjoy was when there was 4 minutes to go and the assistants came down and they show Yze sitting on the bench and after we kick another goal he is smiling. I reckon obviously he is rapt because we won but also from a previous players point of view that the club I played for has finally done it.

My WEG poster finally arrived today. Looks better than what I thought. I never thought I'd be that excited but now I am finally one of those people that have a WEG poster because my team won the premiership.

I laugh rewatching it when the dogs get out to the 19 point lead & the commentators say Melbourne need the next goal to stay in touch. Well guess what BT we kicked the next 16

Yep still waiting 4 weeks for my mark night posters that I ordered from the herald sun shop, plus I ordered stuff from the footy plus more shop and nothing. If it wasn't from reliable suppliers, I'd feel as if I've been scammed. It would be nice to have something. Yes I know it's a nice problem to have but some of these things are gifts and I need them to come. Plus I want to drink a coffee out of a cup that says premiers on it.

I don't know I kind of feel weird playing the dogs. It's like we will already give them extra motivation afterall they will want revenge obviously. Also I'm sorry but if the situation was the other way around and we lost, I would hate to sit there as a fan watching them raise the premiership flag. I couldn't stomach it and the dogs fans aren't that bad.

I remember years ago we were playing Essendon in a night game and I can't remember if it was Bails or Neeld coaching & Max kicked 3 or so goals I think and we unexpectedly won. I remember saying to my parents this guy will become a cult figure and he has. I still can't fathom what he did in the 3rd quarter of the prelim. It was just extraordinary. People say Nic Nat is the best and yeah he has the jump and athleticism but until he does what Maxy did in a quarter then there is no argument. Maxy embraced the history of our club, he tuned himself into a better player and now a premiership captain. The players love him and they love playing alongside him. Just a legend.

Our grand final replays on fox footy are being hijacked by them showing a day full of essendon games then there stupid doco. You'd think they are the only club that are going to celebrate there 150th year.

People kept talking Clayton up about being a star before this season but I didn't really agree because yeah he got heaps of the footy but not all the time did he use it properly. His kicking was terrible, he'd handpass instead of kicking, he would waste the footy and do those stupid handballs. But 2021 what a difference. He chose to kick instead and his kicking was accurate and he kicked more goals. He used the ball so much better and just looked a much better player.

So who has got there Christmas or birthday presents sorted? It's great because I bought my dad the 2021 premiers bottle of red & my brother all this premiership merch. Problem sorted.

Do you reckon this thread will get more pages than a Jack Watts or Tomy Scully thread? By the way I know we won the flag, but I get just as excited watching our prelim especially Maxy's 3rd quarter blitz.

Totally agree about Sparrow. Before the finals, I was like how is he still getting a game, drop him and get Jones in. But in each final he contributed. That goal he kicked in the GF was amazing and came at a good time.

You know the AFL never came out & said if that Max gawn miss was a goal or not. I'm still convinced it was a goal

It's funny the more I see the gf replay the more I just cannot believe we did it. I just sit there saying we actually did it.

Im still waiting for my weg posters that I ordered 10 minutes after we won. 3 weeks it will be on Saturday obviously. Maybe Mark Knight had to sketch some more. Plus I ordered some stuff from the footy plus more shop but that was over a week ago. I can't even remember what I ordered. Ive noticed all the cheese boards have been sold from the melbourne shop.
