  1. yeah but you make a judgement that includes the margin/other factors like injury into consideration like i JUST SAID
  2. He wants him to be in contention for the Brownlow Medal, obviously. We have all seem him rip teams apart for parts of matches and we know he has all the tools, but right now is not quite an A-grade/elite player because he doesn't do it often enough What is so crazy about that?
  3. 13 wins. However, If it's 9 or 10 but we just miss out on a few then it's fairly close to the mark. see how easy that is?
  4. Yes it has dawned on me, if you had bothered to read the thread you would have seen i have already mentioned that the Port game is the only close one that went our way vs 5 that didn't
  5. Well that's where we differ. I don't think it is particularly intelligent to look solely at the w/l column and make a judgement, you need to make an additional qualification on your assessment based on how close you came to winning. Whether it's a young side on the road conceding 9 of the first 11, losing Davey from the start of the 2nd quarter or Ricky P dropping one in the goal square. The same goes for 2008/2009.. we won the spoon both years but our beltings were considerably less brutal in the second year so i'll call that an improvement So if you had enough guts to name a number of wins, and we ended up falling a couple short, it would matter if there were a number of close ones involved or not. Get it?
  6. yeah just blatently ignore it if you dont have an answer good work whats your par score and why dont you have the grapes to state it
  7. well obviously the equation changes a bit when you lose 4.5 matches closely. so you're saying we'll improve but it won't mean wins. so we will lose 10 close ones I guess. how long are you going to go before stating your par score or would that be too much commitment.. that way you couldnt vaguely snake around your argument as easily, i understand
  8. oh really.. I guess the rest of the premiership winning list is just making up the numbers then eh
  9. says more than you have managed in about your last 20 posts which have had nothing to do with football
  10. exactly right that's why the award is such a joke, there are 3 measly votes for 44 players and the winning side is gauranteed 2, usually 3 of them. Fundamentally ridiculous.
  11. well yes we deserved to lose, but the question is whether you expect to win in the same situation next time around. In our situation with our blossoming youth, the answer is of course you bloody do! I watched that Freo game recently, Bruce was rubbish and Macca didn't play. So take that out of the equation straight away. PJ was also there being the proverbial [censored] on the bull. So sub in Spencer and Gysberts for them and add a year of experience for all the other youngsters. We don't have a Freo at Subi match this year. If we did, I would not expect the same side to turn up and concede 9 of the first 11 goals. That's what a young side does. I would expect it to be closer to the side that came out in the 3rd quarter and kicked 6 goals in 20 minutes (or something like that) and we win the match easily. All Bail had to do in the draw was dish it off to Davey and we'd have beaten the premiers. Are you saying that game too is just a loss like any other? Are you saying 8.5 wins is good enough for a side capable of that? What's your par score? I genuinely don't understand what you are on about when you talk about some sort of disconnect between winning games of football and overall team improvement, surely the two go firmly hand in hand.
  12. fair point but there was only 1 such match vs 5 that DIDN'T go our way. Go ahead then and cancel one out you are still left with 12 wins. Your second scenario never happened did it? If it did you might have a point! anyway, what is your point? Do you think that a repeat of 8.5 wins is a pass mark for 2011 or not? Because my point is that 2010's 8.5 wins is misrepresentative of the actual season that transpired so to repeat the same would actually be going backwards.
  13. your 'argument' is essentially this: 'nearly' winning is not actually winning it is the same as losing by 100, even against accomplished sides/interstate therefore it is acceptable for us to finish on 8.5 wins again explain to me how you agree that a 3 point loss can be counted as a 'shouldabeen', but another match included TWO shots on goal to take the lead with 3-4 minutes left is different your mind goes 'less than 6 points' or 'more than 6 points' and you leave it there because you cannot process anything more ignorant, defeatist garbage and pre-defending the failue that 8.5 wins would be is extraordinary
  14. how about just not talk to me you are incredibly arrogant just snide comments with no argument, yeah you ara a hero
  15. Davey's our best player, played 21 all day Watts or Dunn had an easy chance each to win us that game, it means nothing to you staggering
  16. maybe watching the games and thinking before posting is in order
  17. I don't know what is wrong with some people except to say perhaps they do not watch the games. Or they are so deeply rooted in MFCSS they cannot see obvious facts in front of them. The 2 Pies matches + Bulldogs, obviously, a kick in it, takes us to 11. We definitely should have beaten the Hawks as discussed in a recent thread. I just watched the Freo game again, we missed two easy shots to take the lead with minutes remaining, after conceding a 9 goal to 2 start. Should have won that too. That's 13 buddy, anyone who disputes that is just an idiot, or the lord of MFCSS Therefore any less than 13 in '11 is a fail for me
  18. Unless you are a few points down with a couple of minutes left at Subiaco
  19. no not acceptable we were close to winning 13 this year i would like to see us actually win 13 next year collective improvement of a very young and talented group > loss of Bruce and Macca simple as that
  20. i've been watching a few replays lately and I must say I had not given JW enough credit for most of the year, he did a lot of really good things, if only in glimpses. The problem is that he tends to follow up a piece of magic with an embarassing clanger. No doubt whatsoever these clangers will disappear as he gains experience. I am starting to wonder if he is not better suited to playing through the middle of the ground, geez he will be hard to stop
  21. incorrect, we were within a bee's member of finishing about 6th/7th this year, we lost 3 by 3 points or less and had few other we definitely should have won, inc Hawks and Dockers in WA, if we finish 12th again i will not consider it a pass. We've lost Bruce and McDonald, nothing else, since PJ, Miller and Bell contributed almost nothing to our on-field performance.so I expect the huge number of gun youngsters to make up for that easily
